Well, pyruvate technically isn't becoming an electron carrier. NAD+ becomes NADH because of the Hydrogen sulfide group attached to the acetyl group. The 2 carbon molecule that remains becomes Acetyl CoA which can then go into the Kreb's cycle. I just don't want the students confused. :-) Nice chart and thanks for working to help enlighten us.
