I've had a sort of paradoxical personality from birth: I have always had a STRONG sense of justice, drawing me towards order, but yet I value my freedom more than almost anything else, which pulls me towards a more chaotic lifestyle; the daily grind will never satisfy me. These traits would logically, and do, push me to fight for equality and civil freedoms with great passion and aggression, but There's another trait of me that I've wizened enough to know I must never abandon: Pacifism. Violence is NEVER the answer, This I know for certain in my soul. I've almost all my life been confused by these seeming paradoxes in the personality of my heart and soul, But I now know the truth: These Yearnings come from my Irish Blood. Grave Injustices have been forced on my ancestors for generations, but we just want our freedom. We will ALWAYS feel the urge to fight for our homeland, But in truth, what we want and need is peace. A Free Peace when the justice of generations is finally served, and our ancestors no longer yearn for it from their graves. When the children of Ireland and all its neighbors are free to live in Honored Peace, Only then will my Soul be At rest. However, I know my destiny lies here, on the continent of North America. I know not what Destiny has in store for me exactly, and I won't until my dying day, as it should be, But I know that I must Gather wisdom within my mind and soul, for when the time is right, the peoples I grew up next to will need it. And so I stay here, In the U.S. of A. I stay here, I learn, I write, I work, I love, and I live. And I know that someday, Destiny will call upon me. And on that day, I must not be afraid. I must go forth with the calls of freedom, justice, action, and pacifism deep in my heart, shouting out in whatever form that day or those days will need of me.

I have nothing against you but so much is wrong in this comment. People who are chaotic are under the tyranny of their own whims, desires and moods. That is not freedom. Freedom is not chaos, this isn't DnD. Discipline is how you achieve freedom, self imposed rules, goals and decisions. Of your own will. Then you are free to act as you will, you are free. The same goes for society, freedom isn't burning everything to the ground like some Joker. Freedom is having a healthy structure that is non-obtrusive, but still assures you that you are free from the tyranny of your neighbor or governor. But doesn't interfere with your ability to live the life you wish, within freedom. That isn't chaos. As for justice being order. No, justice is when people receive to he fate they have earned, whether it be well or ill. In many orderly tyrannies justice has never been served, in many chaotic lands somebody meets out justice. Justice is a concept separate from order, again this isn't DnD's garbage alignment system. "Violence is never the answer" this is wrong. I suggest listening to "The Necessity of Chivalry" by C.S. Lewis. It isn't long. But a whole person MUST combine the wolf and the lamb, they must integrate their shadow, or else they will be either weak or a bully. Have a nice day.
@justsomejerseydevilwithint46062 жыл бұрын
@@cosmictraveler731 I share your sentiment that the DnD alignments are but a pale imitation of the complexity of real life, a narrowed-down, watered-down view of things fit to describe characters, but not people. I use those words simply to explain myself in a way many will understand. I also agree wuth your sentiment that I mean no ill will to you; have whatever philosophies you want, but I must disagree with some of your claims. Freedom and chaos... It depends on your definitions. I am no slave to rules nor whims. I do what I want to, and I do what orders my lifestyle in a way that it supports me, and enables my will therefore. I am free from any control, and yet I balance this with some order, lest I devolve to a madman on the street. I believe balance between order (rules, guidelines, schedules, habits) and chaos(as i define it; Free choice, some tempered whims, flexibility, openness to outside ideas and stimulus), a balance between the real parts of human experience that "order" and "chaos" attempt to represent, is necessary for a healthy lifestyle. I agree that passion and peace are both necessary, but the "Need" for violent strength is an illusion placed by bullies. Yes, you must have the power to exert your will, that you do not suffer, but that must not be achieved through violence, lest the cycle of pain never end. Passion, strength of will, and strength of exertion of your will, are different from Violence. Violence, for how I use the phrase, is the uncaring assault of another, for petty reasons like hate, fear, sadness, racism, whim, etc. It is anathema to a healthy mind to malevolently desire hurt to be inflicted upon another, for ANY reason, it is immoral and unnecessary, and thus we must find other solutions to any reason that begs violence. _Passion,_ however, is absolutely necessary for a healthy mind, an exertion of will, and healthy expression of self. And so I believe that the inherent evolutionary urge to do harm to your prey or competitors must be redirected to more mentally healthy passions in a sentient mind. It is certainly evident to me that the more we try to be stronger, tougher than the rest of humanity, the more we fall into a cycle of hate. Mental, physical, and Emotional strength are necessary for a healthy adult, but to exert violence on another is wrong and unnecessary. Perhaps I shall listen to that work, and thank you for engaging in this philosophical discussion with me.
