The Boston Celtics are up 2-0 in the NBA Finals after a 105-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Jrue Holiday led the Celtics in scoring with 26 points, while Luka Dončić had 32 with eight turnovers. Dallas also shot 23.1 percent from three and Kyrie Irving is 0-for-8 from behind the arc. Watch as Colin explains why he is not surprised by this 2-0 start and breaks down how the Finals is a "JV vs. Varsity" matchup. Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark was notably snubbed from Team USA's 2024 Summer Olympics roster. She later said that the decision added a "little more motivation" and reportedly told Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides they "woke up a monster." Colin sounds off on the committee's decision to not include Clark on its roster for Paris.

@@johnnybgoode8104 And what are you going on about? She took her team to the NCAA finals twice (some BIG games along the way to do that). You don't know any facts if you think she doesn't have international experience (MVP of FIBA U19s) - I'm sure you'll try to excuse that as not being at the senior level but that isn't the argument you made. She could help Team USA win as much as any other last person on the roster and brings a specialty that might come in handy at some point. I'd expect her to ride the bench with only some playing time here or there - this isn't about her so much as women's basketball (if you weren't listening to CC). Even her on the bench would make household names out of other players on the team with the number of eyeballs on the screen. It would grow the WNBA by a significant amount and put pockets money into the pockets of her teammates (maybe some clark fans see how special A'ja is and get jerseys!). Wasted opportunity.

The Caitlyn Clark bit was 🔥🔥🔥 Colin. You’re right. It’s about who people wanna see at some point. I feel like Women’s basketball is expressing too much of the bitterness that it took a while to catch on instead of support the catalyst of why it’s even happening in the first place.
@75aces97

It's not just Caitlyn Clark. This draft class is the kind of golden goose that the WNBA has been begging for. The olympic team was a chance for a shot in the arm. Anthony Davis was unproven in 2012, but made the team. In the women's game, Nikki McCray and Dawn Staley had college years left in 1996, but made the squad as a business move.

Please shut up. None of the other ladies are drawing record crowds or ratings anywhere near Caitlin Clark. Angel Reese played the Mystics the night before Caitlin Clark and could only draw 10 thousand fans. They didn't have to pick a rookie in 2004, either, but Emeka Okafor made the team. They didn't have to include a rookie in 2012, but Anthony Davis made it. Shareef Abdur-Rahim was never a top 20 player, but he was pn the 2000 squad. Plenty of players have made it for political or marketing reasons rather than true merit. Chelsea Gray hasn't played this season. Diana Taurasi and Kahleah Cooper have been coasting on reputation and they're on this year's squad. USA will win the gold no matter what, but this was a missed opportunity for star wattage.

@Max2nice did you read where I said they'll "win the gold no matter what?" Saying it's not a popularity contest is naive and myopic. They've won 7 golds in a row, 9 in the past 10 Olympiads. Think of what that means. One national team has run unopposed, and the pro league for that sport in said country has stagnated in popularity in that same span of time. They've finally gotten their golden goose and they're content to turn it into foie gras.

I havent seen somebody flip flop that fast since the Olympic gymnastics competition 😂 Dude was trashing Boston 24/7 up til last Friday. And I can already see him laying the groundwork to dismiss and gaslight a Celtics championship, saying theyre too good, too deep, too stacked, the NBA shouldn't allow this, its not fair to the rest of the league 😂

LeBron getting all the blame while other superstar, hall of fame level players escape most of it just shows how great he was in his prime and the standard he was held to that these guys, even Jokić, Giannis and Luka just aren’t at.

If CC has that much of a draw and fan support, then the W needs to nurture her kind of game. CC can change the W in the same way that Steph Curry changed the NBA. If the W wants to create CC type of players, then they need to officiate and change the rules to promote that kind of player.

This is such an idiotic decision, no one is saying that she should be a starter and get a lot of minutes, but after complaining for years about low TV viewership and attendance, here comes someone that the public actually cares to watch and you snub her!! You know FIFA will make sure Messi plays in the next world cup even if they have to push him in a wheelchair!!

all the talk about the celtics having this insanely talented team…i dont think anyone other than tatum has been consistently highly regarded. horford was washed before his 2nd stint, white was just a solid piece not worth a 1st round pick and a swap, brown was a weird number 3 pick and eh as a rookie. porzingis is too injury prone (still is). but theyve been successful every year with pieces going in and out, and that credit has to be given to the team as a whole and tatum and brown. those 2 guys are the only consistent pieces. ecf in tatums rookie yr without hayward and kyrie. 2nd round yr after with a mopey kyrie. ecf in the bubble after losing horford and kyrie and getting kemba. 1st round exit when brown was injured. finals with horford back and white. ecf with the same team. finals again with porzingis and holiday minus smart. different coaches. different gms. only brown and tatum were the same. their worst failures are still quality seasons.

The difference between men and women in business is women enter with their emotions while men capitalization gain. Most men don’t worry about insults or appealing appearance if you already love. We look at profits and continual growth and success. Women on the other hand is do they love me how do i look do they want to sleep with me.
