If I'm the Celtics, besides Hayward, I'd also be looking at trading Kemba. He's inconsistent on offense & dreadful on defense, but he does have that All-Star pedigree so I'm sure a lotta teams would be interested. You could get some nice pieces to bolster the lineup outta trading Kemba, besides, I don't think losing him would even hurt the Cs that much when they already have a PG in Marcus Smart who has proven in the playoffs that he could also be a threat on offense apart from being the usual defensive dog that he is.

I think you make a good point here. Marcus Smart being the PG with Brown in the backcourt with him might work well. You could get quite a bit for a package of Kemba, Hayward and picks and you'd free up quite a bit of salary. All reports are that Kemba is a great teammate and all but the liability on defense plus I think his knee injuries will be chronic issues could be a decent time to move on especially if you get back some valuable stuff which I think you can

How does the Steven Adams trade fits with JB, tatum and Kemba max? They will be able to run it just for one year (before the Tatum extension kicks in)? I do love the Turner to Celtics trade, but - every team wants him (kinda the RoCo of this offseason), and I don't think Hayward is enough. If they can get Gobert, even with losing some of their promising players, they should go for it (even if it's for 1 year) - he'll stop Giannis and Bam, and will make them the best team in the NBA - since there were trouble between him and Mitchell, it is a real option - obviously, they need to upgrade their deal. Having a center hole is one of the easiest problems in today's NBA, and I do believe in Ainge to get them a good enough center for the east - I don't know if stopping Davis/Jokic is possible for anyone but Giannis, Gobert and Bam, but they will be able to go to the finals. I really loved them this year and I think they are definitely on the right track on getting the chip - the Celtics, the Nuggets, the Heat and the Mavs are the teams I really look for the next 2 years to win a title, and finish the old order of Lebron, Kawhi, Durant and Curry.

Ultimately when jayson and Jaylen are in their primes 27-30 Most of this roster won’t be here. The most important thing is to keep them contending until then without making huge shakeups all at once. With that being said Gordon has to be the first to go. Kemba later, I think Marcus will be there to stay tho. If we could pick up a another guard who can pass defend score when needed or a center who can stretch the floor defend and rebound the other holes can be filled in with solid draft picks and role players

Kanter opts out gives celtics 5 million plus the 5.7 mle brings the cap available to 12 million, thats enough to get christian wood, put theis on the bench and instantly improve the bench. If the celtics do this they can fill every need. If gordon hayward opts out and renegotiates to 20 million that gives an additional 14 million which is huge that could bring in a guy like danny green off the bench too
