My grandfather would often say, in reference to the step by step process of construction, As long as you keep heading in the right direction, the route you take to get to the final destination doesn't matter, It's all about reaching that destination, unless you are paying for the gas, then you better take the best route, else risk never getting where you needed to go! That was his way of telling us to always work in a well planned and safe manner. This was enjoyable to listen and watch, just as much as it was a video about unsafe construction methods. Be safe!!!

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. You and Wiley did a lot of hard work getting those roof beams up and bolted in and level. Lots of hard work for older people-ha!!!! You and Wiley did a great job. Next is the roof tins. You both take care and be safe doing that. Take a few breaks every once and a while. The older we get the more breaks we need. Hank your concrete floor looks real nice. Your company that you had do the work did a great job. Concrete work is hard work. The pole building is really taking shape. Looking good. Thanks for showing us your progress. Nice work. Looks good. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.

I've got the $50 Skill 1/2" hammer drill from the Home Depot, bought it years ago, that's been my go to for BIG holes or anything I do in concrete.. it was cheap and it works hard. Sometimes the smoke tries to come out of it, but I just keep easing her on and it's lasted me years!

You need a good low speed heavy duty drill those auger bits work best at a low speed they are made so the tip pulls the drill into the wood all you have to is hold on to the drill because it will twist around maybe knocking you off the ladder

Self feed auger bits need big amperage drills and 10 gauge wire extenion cords .Dumb question why didn't you just make template for the truss holes you needed to drill and predrill them . I am pretty sure they would have been the same .

Usually, concrete amount is calculated in number of yards needed, not the number of trucks needed. The number of trucks would be determined by the number of yards the truck can haul. And that would be based upon the size of the truck. Concrete trucks (as a rule) dont make concrete, like some diesel engines make oil. lol The number of yards needed will also need to take into account how well the area has been prepped for pouring. But for a well prepped slab 4” thick, figure roughly 70 sq. ft. of area for each yard of concrete.
