I bought the first one and locked the rear diff, added a cheap brushless combo and a sound kit. That made it wayyy more fun, donuts and whatnot. That being said, maybe I will pick up this body as a spare.

I’ve been wanting one of the original CEN trucks ever since they came out. I just dont have a purpose for this type of truck. It’s not really for crawling, its not for bashing, it doesn’t race. It’s not for drifting. I could pull my lowrider with it, but I already have a hauler. I don’t know, i gotta think about it.

@The_RC_GuruКүн бұрын
@ first world problems is more like complaining your cars remote start only works if you’re 15 ft from it. This is more like a party foul. I still ordered one. But the industry is well aware and mostly adapted to not put body pins through scaler bodies. 4yrs after their 1st ones release this one shoulda been addressed.

True, even traxxas that is notorious for being overpriced still has the a nice clipless system for there trx4m which is sorta on the cheaper side. 400$ for clips is such a buzzkill
@boduke9428Күн бұрын
I think both colors look great. I also agree that this is a model where clipless bodies would work great. It's insane to me that this and my TRX6 G63 have body clips that scar beautiful scale bodies but my Xmaxx has self ejecting, errr i mean, clipless body.

If you're building an RC which has "looking good" as one of it's main functions, it's kinda mandatory to have a clipless body mounting system, or one with hidden clips. :p Good video, I was expecting to see it hauling stuff though. :)

AI like the looks of the rig, but what its purpose exactly? I personally don’t think it it’s scale enough, to be w show truck and its no good for crawling. Too slow to whip it around..

Ngl with a brushed powertrain pushing such slow speed, that much body rattle, and not even official licensing, theres no way they can justify their prices Edit: im also not a wizard on suspension but they couldve at least done 4 link

The axle ring and pinion are comically small and won't handle power.
@akiiira6709Күн бұрын
@PonkyKong that would be another point of contention for me as I would've brushless swapped it the moment I saw the top speed and then been pissed when it broke immediately. Like if I can do something to an entry grade model, I should be able to do it to a more expensive higher build quality truck like cen advertises their builds to be lol
@PonkyKongКүн бұрын
@akiiira6709 worst part is there is now room for a proper ring and pinion. You're looking at an axle swap.
@akiiira6709Күн бұрын
@PonkyKong having to buy performance rc axles to achieve what should have been stock quality would be the last straw for what sanity I have left ngl, like ffs I get it for like a crawler if u want portals etc but it should be strong enough for basic stuff with the price tag on it. Otherwise it's just a crawler with a nice body that just happens to not be able to crawl
@PonkyKongКүн бұрын
@akiiira6709 yeah. It's a looker. But leave it stock. I have 4 CEN trucks. All the diffs went. Didn't bother fixing em after I took one apart and saw.

Yeah, but if you looked at the specs years ago, you'd notice the brushed motor, the open diffs and realize this truck is meant to look at, because open diffs: no crawling. Brushed motor: no proper bashing. It was always gonna end up like this. It's a show truck. It's to look at and take to the tailgate party or the 1:1 car show and have people admire it. I understand it, but I'd never buy one. I buy RC s to drive, not to putter around like my dead grandma. Overpriced, under-engineered, under-performing. They didn't even make it clipless, so really it fails even as being nice to look at. Sad.

I have the 450 already with every CEN upgrade part, castle motor esc combo (3s) and most importantly a tow bar and trailer to tow around my Ti buggy's and a few carbon fiber LCG comp crawlers. This is like a downgrade with an unlicensed body

I am not into scale/crawler RCs so can somebody exlain to me why this RC is very popular? It's not fast, not agile, not tough, not normal size so very few upgrades possible. Basically only look cool.
@Boogie_the_catКүн бұрын
It's challenging, it's a good group activity, it's good for younger and older people, you can do it inside, and nobody gets a broken ankle when a 85mph 14 pound Felony knocks you over during a speed run. Those are just what my crawling friends say. Crawling is popular here too, where the only real RC club is a crawler club. Never driven one myself.
@The_RC_GuruКүн бұрын
@@Bziiit. it’s not that popular. And it’d be just like to pull a trailer mostly (for me) as its driveline isn’t durable enough to be used as a crawler. A scaler to pull another scaler. Oh and to look pretty in my hobby room.
@boduke9428Күн бұрын
That's it. It's just one of those trucks who's only real purpose is to look and be cool. As others have said it will do good pulling a trailer if you like that kind of thing.
