The damage shown on the fitting screen from the breacher pod is theoretical damage against a capital ship, its damage is adjusted down for smaller ships

Just read its 'limited' to 0.8% of target HP. So over 50 seconds a single pod can deal a maximum of 40%. So it takes a minimum of 3 to kill a target. Its certainly a minimum of 2 with skills. Skills increase limited damage from 0.8% to about 1% and time from 50 to about 70.

When you’re simulating a ship and you over heat something, to go back to green without having to double click. You can just shift-click to reverse the cycle of green-red-offline

Yeah please be aware the breacher pod will most likely never do the maximum amount of damage to whatever you're shooting unless its a capital ship. It's hard to calculate the actual dps it will apply because its dependent on the hp on the target you're shooting. On anything under a capital it will most likely do the default 1% of their hp per second for 75 seconds assuming max skills. Using these ships are going to be extremely difficult because 9/10 times you are going to loose in a brawl due to your damage being over time and not applied instantly. And hitting a target and running away doesn't stop them from warping to a gate or station and docking up or gating out. Im not sure what the best use scenario for these is going to be but im sure someone will figure it out. Or they will be incredibly niche like the edencom ships, but with a cloak and DOT they will probably see a bit more use but not much due to short range application.

1% of ship HP with all bonuses from modules? 1% of base HP (total)? Or 1% of just base hull HP? If it ignore resistances (as mentioned on other of Loru's video) 1% would be a huge addition. Concider this fit fighting against itself, if it would be 1% of total base HP (hull+armour+shield, no bonuses from module) you look at something around 250 raw damage per second? Which adjusted for resistances would be equivalent to 500DPS from different sources. Dont know how it specifically works or what plans for balancing CCP have for this module and I really hope they will make it work somehow, but DoT is generally very hard to balance mechanic, easily swinging between totally OP and totally useless (or both same time, completely invalidating whole groups of approaches while useless against anything other)

Yeah, and I don’t see it going down that much over time. It’s like 900 atavum for the BPC, not the ship, and unless they make atavum MUCH more plentiful the price of that won’t drop much.

OK.... BUT - Just keep in mind, though, you’ll need to decloak and wait the FULL 10 seconds before you can lock onto the target + some time for a lock... Plus, once you’re in the system, finding the target take some time. Also, remember that bots typically warp to dock instantly as soon as a neutral appears in local chat. You could end up searching NULLs for hours before finding someone farming solo who’s missed intel warnings and is distracted watching some hentai... and let's hope the target isn’t just bait!

this is going to lead to ISK tanking for sure. ancillary reps that use nanite paste or cap boost as ammo. they outperform even the best deadspace mods. they are cheap to buy but have the associated ammo cost. without the ammo they are the worst reps. they also come in remote reps for Logi pilots. they are cheap to buy but expensive to run. a cap boosted shield rep costs 300 to 15k isk per rep and a nanite paste-boosted armor repper is even more at 28k per cycle. the ammo also takes up cargo room so you are limited by cargo space.

Considering these pods will ignore resistances, everything under thicc battleships will die to it in 30 seconds. And if you dont dock in time, you will die mid warp. This will surely be brutally op, and will make other weapons pretty much obsolete

Correct me if my math is wrong, but if all your skills are maxed out with Medium Breacher Pods, it guarantees chunking up to 75% total health off anything that is NOT a Capital Ship, and even regular Capitals could have up at least 25% of their health taken over 75 seconds. Taking into account nothing else, of course, but still. And this can stack, with each subsequent Breacher Pod simply remaining inert until the one before it expires. This is murder. Even more so than previous roaming gangs with webs and the like, this is murder. P.S. But given this is damage over time, how does it work with EVE TIDI?

One thing that wasn't mentioned in the video is that a ship will only be able to be affected by 1 breacher pod DOT at a time. Now weather that's how it works when these start showing up is another thing altogether since there was no mass test.

You're correct you will be affected by the largest DOT if multiple are applied, then when it falls off it will be the next largest (same as links). Gating and docking are the only things that will remove the DOT and you can die in warp if it's still ticking.

That 980 dps will realisiticly never apply to any vessel except capitals as it will do % damage to raw hitpoints of a ship unless it exceeds 1k volley per second cause that will than be the new max so while the 980 looks impresive only against a capital ship u will be applying it anything below that its going to be way less

1k volley of HP, not EHP. With moderate resists of 60%, that's 2500dps EHP. (1000dps/(1.0-0.6))=2500dps after EHP adjustment

Explain this Breacher Pod further for a newbie please. It seems like you can only fit one and only those Deathless ships can fit it? There are more modules that can only be fitted by certain ships. Guess I have not found this information ingame yet.

correct, if you look at the role bonus of the ship it'll tell you specifically that it can fit one. meaning, ships without that bonus won't be able to. Another example is the Edencom ships Vorton Projector and the Triglavians' disintegrators.

The problem with the ship is that it's super short range. Good luck trying to keep them alive when virtually every brawler fleet could drop one of these in 1 fleet salvo each. They're definitely gonna be primary every time. 70k dmg for each ship they hit with that pod weapon. Because of the fact they're gonna be getting destroyed almost right away in fleet battles tells me there's gonna be HUGE pressure on BPC demand so they're gonna go up in price so f'ing quickly.
