When i use this foot to topstitch neckbands, I get a full on mess of skipped stitches, no matter what tension/foot pressure/stitch length i try. Any suggestions?

Hello! Is the Janome good for wovens (as I find in my research the brother seems to be), I can't decide which to purchase - I work with a company now making basketball and football jersey samples.. but my business is an eveningwear line in all silk.. complete opposite I know but I am an expert sewer and would like to spend more if it is something I can use with my eveningwear for decorative purposes and hems.. but if that's not practical for silk, I imagine I would stick with the brother for the athleticwear company.. please let me know any advice/thoughts, I would very much appreciate it, thank you!! Loosening the looper tension may help prevent this
