Thanks for making a clear and insightful video about the CenterPoint Amped 415 crossbow. The timing of your video review was perfect because I have been sitting on the bubble about which crossbow at this price point to purchase. Your review tilted the scales towards the CenterPoint so I went out this morning and bought one! I have been a bowhunter for many years and shot both compound and recurve bows but this past September had serious rotator cuff surgery and had to sit out the whitetail season. I have an older PSE crossbow that I was figuring on hunting with once my shoulder blew out and it became doubtful that I'd ever be able to pull a hunting bow again but once I saw how much crossbows have advanced in the last few years I knew that I'd invest in one. Thanks again- I too look forward to setting up and shooting this crossbow and getting back to the woods with it next fall!

I was planning on doing a video on my set up and the arrows / bolts I put together for hunting with this bow, but the cold weather and snow hit so it will probably won't happen until spring, but stay tuned for that as I think it might be helpful to you as well. I used loctite on my Centerpoint Sniper Elite 385 when I put mine together it saved me a lot of hassle from having to re-tighten the screws..Great video..👍😁

Thanks for that update. Great to know that CenterPoint took care of things. It appears that in trying to get the higher speeds the crossbow limbs issues rise as well. I have been shooting heavier arrows (602 grains) and one of the reasons for that is to slow the limbs down a bit to hopefully avoid such issues. I have a video on why I selected the arrows I did. So happy for you! I'm sure it will work awesome for you. My first crossbow was a Jaguar that I purchased about 6 years ago. It only shoots around 220 feet per second which is slow compared to your 390 and I've taken 4 deer with it and still use it for hunting. So I'm sure you will love your new bow. You are more than welcome and thanks for your kind words! I switched to a crossbow several years back due to cancer related limitations. They are easily assembled and once you dial in your arrrow / bolt setup are very accurate. I feel they still aren't a substitute for a rifle and like traditional bowhunting you still need to hone your woodsmanship skills to get close to deer. Even with the crossbow I still limit my shots to around 30 yards in order to feel comfortable. Shooting accurately at a target out to 60 yards that doesn't move is one thing, but shooting at an animal with lightening reflexes is another, so I still like to be close in order to make ethical kill shots. Anyone watching this video trying to figure out how to put it together. I took silencers off to put limb part on rail. Obviously string you pull back goes over rail but instructions didn't make that clear and this is my first crossbow. Put the cap thing on limb part before you put limb part on rail. Last I was a bit worried how hard it was to turn Allen wrench I thought I'd stripped it but after about 10 hard turns it tightens up the rest of the way easier. Also when putting on quiver to picctany rail get the screws started a bit then put on rail and tighten up. Instructions really sucked along with pictures.

Do yourself a favor and throw away the scope. I bought killer instinct speed dial scope. 2" groups at 50 yards. Good enough for me. It's long, cumbersome, and heavy. I use a single point sling. 100 grain tip.

The center point crossbows with the adjustable stock breaks where the stock meets the receiver it's a design flaw and don't worry because center point will not back the warranty they would not even return the phone call or answer the phone after the first call so you get stuck with a broken $400 crossbow I would not recommend buying center point my local dealers will not even carry these crossbows because of this

I just bought a 415 amped and curious what arrow and broadhead combination you are going to use for hunting

Hi Kevin, Congrats on the purchase of your new crossbow. The arrows that come with the crossbow are around 400 grains with field points. I know that some brands of the higher speed bows (over 400 FPS) have had some problems with limbs cracking. My thoughts are that if I go with a heavier arrow it will slow the limbs down some and help preserve them. I think some of the damage comes from shooting a lighter arrow which acts similar to a dryfire on the limbs, thus the problems. Just my opinion though. This along with the fact that I want a heavier arrow for hunting black bear for added penetration I decided to go with Carbon Express Pile Driver 20" bolts (442 grains with 100 grain field tip). I change out the field tip of these arrows with original glue on Snuffer broadheads (cut on contact 3 blade at 125 grains) glued to a steel threaded adapter of 125 grains as well. Total 250 grain broadhead. I then add an illuminated nock to the other end. Total weight for my arrow set up is 602 grains with an FOC (front of center) of 18%. FOC with the weight up front should all my arrow to fly with less variation. The heavier arrow although it will decrease the feet per second (I estimate about 10 FPS for every 25 grains added) will still allow me to send out an arrow at around 330 FPS. Still pretty fast considering I just killed a doe today at 17 yards with my older recurve crossbow that shoots about 220 FPS an using a lighter arrow. I know that that is probably more of an answer than you wanted, but I wanted to provide the best answer I could with the most info for you. I plan on doing a full video on this in the next week or so to cover it in detail (I'm still waiting on arrow components to be delivered). Hey bud I don't understand did all this research on this crossbow why didn't you just get a Barnett crossbow for about the same price could have even been a little cheaper it has the triggertech trigger so I know it's got a better trigger the Barnett does and they give you a 5 year warranty as well

Hi Don, In my research I found most of the crossbows were pretty similar and Barnett does make a great bow no doubt about it. But the speed on the Barnett Whitetail (which I assume is what you are referring to) was around the 350 fps range. I wanted this bow mainly for black bear and plan on shooting and arrow over 600 grains weight. This would slow my speed down from a factory arrow around 54 fps (3 fps reduction for every 10 grains). So If I start with a bow around 350 I'd be under 300 fps for hunting which I didn't want. By picking the Amped 415 Id be shooting a final arrow weight around 361 fps with an arrow of incredible momentum. That's a big difference to me and why I choose it. Besides that the Amped 415 was only $299 ($100 less than normal) for the package which is less in price than the Barnett Whitetail is listed for right now. I know the Barnett has a better trigger, but that really hasn't been and issue for me so far. I hope that help answer your question. Thanks for your comment and for watching! God bless!
