The reverse draw they’re talking about is the string comes back “inside” the pulleys instead of traditional outside the pulleys, another reason the string angle is so sharp

I own a Center Point Amp 415. The stock scope was removed before I left the store. I had a Vortex Crossfire II illuminated scope installed. I must say, I love my Amp415. It's excellent value. It's quiet, and accurate. All around great value. I added a carbon fiber bipod and other minor goodies. It's been reliable thus far. Very good all around crossbow and excellent bang for the buck! Keep in mind Center Point is under the same banner as Ravin. Center Point has a promising future with Ravin technology in their tool box. Depending upon wind speeds I've been able to get a 4-6 inch grouping at 100yards. Btw, Great Channel. My wife and I both enjoy your videos. Cheers from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 👍

Rich. I bought my nephew a Centerpoint 370 a few years ago. It was his first Xbow and I think it was under $300. He killed his first buck with it that year and several more deer since. It is very accurate and very fast. The scope and trigger is where they lack. That being said, for a low cost entry into xbows, it is impressive. So much so, the kid saved up money for an upgrade and still won’t get another, he just upgraded the scope.

I have a Centerpoint Dagger 390 and I am impressed by the power this crossbow delivers. The Centerpoint optics leave a lot to be desired...I replaced mine with an Leapers model. I have to use two target blocks when I shoot broadheads(Montec G5 125 gr) and they sometimes make it through both. The blackout target is rated for bows up to 400 fps, but it will not stop bolts from the Dagger. Last year was my first season hunting with a crossbow, but I did not get a chance to take a deer, so I cannot comment on the effectiveness while hunting. Accuracy is very good...I practice with 3/4" orange stickers and can hit them out to 30 yards. My first shot with this crossbow was at a target on top of two milk crates and it was low. The bolt went through 4 layers of hard plastic and was only caught by the vanes in the second crate.

reverse draw is string come off the inside of the cam or bottom of the cam depending on how you want to say it. Bullpup trigger is the trigger is in front of the cocking mechanism and uses linkages between to cocking mechanism to fire the crossbow when you pull the trigger.
@christopherkane6333 жыл бұрын
I do believe that they test crossbows with light arrows to get highest speed. The arrows you looked at are 345 without field points, so it would be 445 with 100gr broadhead. This would give you that 160fpe listed.

I did put the Vortex crossfire 2 with speed ring. Chronographs at around 410 fps with 400 gr bolt. Very accurate 1inch groups to 50 yrds. So far I'm very happy. I know you've already decided on and bought the Scorpyd. I bought a Wrath 430X a few weeks ago. The X has an adjustable stock, like an AR-15. I wasn't fond of the package scope. I put a Hawke on it. The stock bolts are 400 grain with the 100 grain head. I ordered some heavier, spine indexed arrows, and they are 480 grains with 100 grain head. I shot it with my new bolts for the first time today. According to the speed ring on the scope, it's shooting just under 380 fps. I shot an 1 1/2", 3 bolt group with it at 60 yards and a 3" group at 100. I couldn't ask for more. The only drawback to me is the incredibly long trigger pull. The trigger pull isn't too heavy, it just has a lot of creep and no back wall before it fires. I tried the Silent Crank. It is silent, but I much prefer the rope cocker. It's a handful to cock, with the 210 lb draw weight, but it's not too bad if you're only shooting 15-20 times.

I had an Excalibur matrix 380 a couple years ago and sold it because I hadn't been hunting for a couple years. Last year I bought the CP amped 415. I shot it about 40 to 50 times. It was very accurate out to 50 yards with the factory arrows. I tried the blood sport arrows and they were very accurate at 20 yard, as I moved out they shot off a few inches every ten yards I went out. But all three arrows were tight together, just not where I was aiming. I couldn't figure it out. I also didn't like the fact that I had to collapse the stock down everytime I cocked it and slide it back out to take a shot. I figured the mechanism would break before long. Plus it left weird marks on the shafts up by the fletching from the ball bearing hold down device, not sure what caused that. I sold it, and now wished I would have kept my Excalibur. Luve and learn. So back to looking for another crossbow, but don't have the budget for the nice ones anymore. At least I hear CP has great customer support, that in and of itself is a good reason to choose them. Happy hunting!

Although I have Black Eagle Zombie Slayer arrows now, I did all my sighting in and fist 50-60 shots fired using .003 SF Centerpoint Factory arrows with it. Let me tell you for what are entry level quality arrows I wouldn't DARE shoot two arrows in a row at the same target out to 40 yards with this bow using either FPs or FBBHs. Thing is built like a M1A1 Abrams MBT and I love it so much I bought the same bow the Wrath 430 only difference is it doesn't have the folding stock the 430X does. I shot 150grn 4 blade 1-5/16" Magnus Black Hornet Sir-Razor FBBHs for a 450grn TW arrow out of it at a chronographed confirmed 397fps and they flew consistently with in 1" at 30 and 40 as FPs yards and within 1.5" of FPs at 50 yards. IMO absolutely no doubt whatsoever you can not get a better bow that shoots 400fps for this price.

I really enjoy your content, please keep it up. I've been into archery for many years, and shoot personally a compound bow, now that my age has caught up with me, and have back with shoulder issues, I've been considering getting into crossbows. I've been following your crossbow reviews very closely, and find them very interesting loaded with info which is good. This is only my opinion, but you have a excalibur recurve, and regardless of all the bells, and whistles that come with compound crossbow models. I personally would want to stay with something simple like the newer models from excalibur recurve crossbows which comes with less tuning tinkering as one would have with a compound, plus recurves have less issues that one may have to deal with in a pinch situation. I'm personally looking strongly into excalibur recurve crossbows.

If you are on a budget, the CenterPoint & Killer Instinct crossbows are quite competitive. CenterPoint has the connection with Ravin (owned by same company), but like Ravin their warranties are quite limited. Whereas, Killer Instinct has a lifetime warranty. If I was spending less than $1,000 on a crossbow, I would surely consider the CenterPoint CP400. I've held it in several stores now, & it seems quite solid & well built. A Wisconsin sporting goods store that tends to carry higher end stuff (Mathews, Mission, Hoyt, Bowtech, Ten Point, Ravin, etc...) has the CenterPoint CP400 hanging next to everything else. Outside of the scope not being the best, it's not a bad package for the money. If you really wanted a Ravin but can't really afford one, the CenterPoint models would be worth checking out. You can buy a CP CP400 from Walmart for under $700. 18 out of 19 reviews on the Walmart site, give this crossbow a 5 star rating. One rating was four stars. The only knock I have heard is the triggers may not be as good as the Ravin crossbows.

Sled style cocking devices are a little bit difficult to disengage after cocking. Develop a technique to remove without endangering your fingers. Second focal plane scopes usually have a crosshair. You can change magnification without causing accuracy problems because the crosshair is in the center of the scope. A tree style reticle will only be accurate at a particular magnification. The speed ring scopes are second focal plane scopes with the speed ring controlling magnification and accuracy.

There is no manufacturer (that I am aware of) that sells overseas bows with premium arrows. When they dont mention the specs (that are most important) You can bet they are ,005 and close matching is something that happens by accident, maybe one in a million times. More likely... Never (ever) at all.

I just bought the Wrath 430 from cabelas. 399$ on sale, Plus 15% off for cyber monday, plus 100 Manufacturer rebate. 239$ out the door for the bow after everything. I really wanted a ravin R5X on Cyber Monday, but could not pass this deal up for essentially 1,000$ cheaper. Plan on registering the bow Friday when it comes.

How did the rebate process work for you? How long the approval after you submitted? Have you received the rebate yet?

2021 centerpoint siege rs410 is the reverse draw Think they need to update their site

Hi Rich, really enjoying this look at all the crossbow offerings. Looking at the Center Point home page they have a CP 400 that has the same basic profile with an adjustable stock.

The "reverse draw " is the string coming from the inside of the cams (rail side) instead of the limb side ....also I and my family have shot the sniper 370 it is a great crossbow for the money the trigger is stiff and honestly I did not like the scope it seemed not so great but it was switched out with Bushnell trophy 2x7 doa crossbow scope and that was much better

I look forward to all your videos. As for Centerpoint, there appears to be some inconsistencies on their website, you’d think they would get the details right. That said, people really like the CP400. My money is still on you becoming a Sub 1 owner! Keep ‘em coming Sir!

CNC is computerized numerical control of the machining equipment and, yes, I'd be surprised if any aluminum component was not done by CNC machine.

I imagine Centerpoint is a known economical crossbow. They are owned by the same company as Crossman. I remember owning a Crossman by gun when I was young and was reliable had it for years. I haven't heard of that many problems with Centerpoint.

I harvested my biggest buck ever with a Amped 415 made by CenterPoint purchased at Walmart for $385 plus tax and it came with a sled crank and cocking rope but the limbs cracked during practice soooo of course I took it back and Walmart replaced it because it happened within 30 days of the purchase...also the scope was not good at all and I had to purchase the $88 LUMIX Speed Ring 1.5 5x32 to replace the stock scope and the laminate started cracking and peeling off of it and it was past the point of return and so I wrapped them with some black electrical tape and harvested a perfect 10 pointer that was 24 1/4 inches outside to outside and scored 162 and 6/8 total on Buckmaster Trophy Records but they will not let you keep your inside spread so I ended up with a score of 140 and 4/8 in the perfect category for crossbows and if it holds should be 3rd in the state of Ky with a crossbow...I’ve since upgraded to the Ravin R10 and have harvested some does....so I hope that helps you Rich and I couldn’t help mentioning my trophy Buck!! 😃

Hey Rich, do you know if any manufacturer make a GPS nock to easily find your arrows with phone?
@leveraction7673 жыл бұрын
There have been a couple. They have come and gone and never caught on. Bread crumbs was the last. Maybe they are still around. Very expensive (all of them) and customer satisfaction has always been mild at best.

There were some Bluetooth nocks but really, IMO, a lighted nock still best bet at least for me

What other crossbows have you looked at? We got an awesome deal on that Bear X Trek 380. Also, are there any kind of little stands you can use just to help prop up a crossbow? Its for when my mom wants to use it. Its a little front heavy for her but I'm confident with practice (and some kind of little prop) we will both love it. (I know I'm feeling satisfied with a quality purchase) 😁
@Deathbybunjie Жыл бұрын
I looked at a lot more crossbows back then but I'm also looking at some new offerings right now with new videos so check out both. As for the prop, take a look at the Caldwell Deadshot field pod or the bog death grip, both of them get good reviews from me. Hope that helps! Good luck out there to both of you!

@@Deathbybunjie Awesome! That is a place for me to start. Just our blind is a repurposed fishing shack so it’s actually a small building with removable windows and strong frames to rest your rifle on (still with a hand to cushion) So at least I know there are options. (I’m still so tickled at the awesome deal we got and what little extra I had to pay was way overshadowed by the fact I was able to support a local business and not have to travel 3.5 hours to cabelas.)
@loulage9413 жыл бұрын
The reverse draw your drawing the cams off the back of cams instead of the front giving you added power stroke equal to size of cam making crossbow a little faster from what i understand. And i would check out trigger my centerpoint 370 has like a hard to pull 6lb trigger terrible. But crossbow is accurate.

As you know I shoot the patriot 415 from center point and I am more than please I really love my crossbow the optics are ok I would prefer something better for low light conditions but I can't really complain 😜

Center point likes to put a different name on the same crossbow. And change the color or the amount of arrows that comes with it.
