Central Moreton Bay - Mud Island

This is the ninth video in the series on central Moreton Bay. This time I am looking at Mud Island. I found some information from a survey of the bottom around mud and I have included information from this. It was a spot survey so it does not cover the majority of the area we are interested in, but we can use the information we have to get an idea of what nearby areas are likely to be like.
Mud was a great fishing spot back in the day, but like so many other areas it is becoming a car park on weekends. I have fished it a few times over the last couple of years and come away with a feed, but it is nothing like it was 30 or 40 years ago. Never-the-less you can still get a feed there and knowing where to look will help you do that.
What did I forget to say in the video this time?
1. The south side of the island is, in my experience, hit and miss. I either did quite well or there were no fish at all.
2. I generally did best on the north reef or off the north east corner and down the east side a bit.

I always get something interesting out of your videos. Thank you.. I like Mud Island, the burials are fascinating, a skull was washed up in the 70s or 80s from memory. The island was also used for dumping dead whales and was known for attracting big white pointers.

You are a good man...1 in 1 trillion that have respect for us younger and older generations learning these areas with no idea what to do...99.999 % hold shit a "big secret" share nothing...all for them selves ...just sound around and you will eventually find some realy good spots guys...snapper and all your favourite spots...all findable with time and learning

Thanks. There is no magic bullet but these areas have worked for me and I hope they work for you. The biggest secret is to fish at the quietest times, not always possible, I know.
