This video is not an indepth look into these battleships as that would be too long. I merely wanted to introduce these vessels as many are unfamiliar with them. I'm not including cruisers of any type, just battleships. Sorry if there are any mispronunciations.

say, where do you get the sources for all your information, about the early ships of the IJN. Books on these are often hard to come by
@centralcrossing4732

@@laryyan1358 It is indeed difficult to find information on these ships. However, it is out there. One thing to keep in mind is to not always directly hunt them. For example, "Japanese battleships 1897-1945 a photographic archive" covers all of Japan's battleships, armoured cruisers, and battlecruisers with photos. That one is good for dates and brief explanations. For more details, I also used a photographic album like "Mikasa: An illustrated history of the last Pre-Dreadnought battleship." That book is only detailed for Mikasa and provides much more details than in the other book I stated. Then there are small prints like "Russian battleships vs Japanese battleships: Yellow sea." This is a breakdown of power between the ships that engaged one another. Hope that helps you look a bit further into them.

Fascinating video, I wasn’t familiar at all with Japanese Pre-Dreadnoughts so this was quite nice to see!

That's great that the Mikasa survives to this day!

Highly enjoyable overview, Crosser. That picture of Aki making headway with the cloud of smoke to starboard is excellent. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Cheers.

Is there any way you could please cover the life and now wreck of the USS Lexington? She and her sister Saratoga have slightly similar stories to the Titanic and Britannic being the same length and ending up with one on the ocean floor in many pieces and the other you dive on.

Asagi. Those low jutting casemated secondaries look wet. It would be interesting to see the bow/sine wave at speed. Wonder if the water would start pouring in while turning sharply.

That predates the pre dreadnought era that started in 1891 as I outlined in the video. It's also a prize ship, taken from China, which I also excluded prizes.

@@centralcrossing4732 Yeah I can and did adjust the voloum, and had to rewind cause missed your opening statement. But the music it self isn't to my taste. That's what I meant by jarring. Just this old fart's 2 pesos.

@@davidangelo8902 I understand that. I just use what sounds decent to me as I don't intend for it to be given any real attention other than for the opening and closing. I will almost guarantee more music out of some viewer's taste will re appear.

@@centralcrossing4732 yeah I get that, and a minor thing like intro music isn't going to stop me from watching or liking. I do like your picks for subject matter. Like I said, that was a good brief on the IJN Predreadnoughts. Best from Philippines, David
