There's some more stuff in that takenouchi demo that resembles guard work, honestly the whole thing is probably worth watching for anyone interested.

Takenouchi ryu is a good style of jujutsu and its techniques can be modified to today's streets, gansekiotoshi it's a great technique one of my favourites

While not useful in self defense, Bolos at least have utility in competition.

Why is that a good thing? Because you have a plane of movement you can’t move in?

Heh, sometimes I "flow roll" with a 10th planet guy at an open mat who does a lot of that, it's like I'm body surfing on top of one of those giant yoga balance balls rolling around...until he gets tired and stops moving so we can start doing some jiu jitsu.. /jk

Because a berimbolo has no practical use in self defence. You can get away with doing it when competing because there are no strikes involved. Also long term use of that kind of technique is 100% going to lead to back problems and the like.

Ganseki - Otoshi means stony throw . This name as I know , has been used for some other techniques for example something like Tai - Otoshi , Judo Te -Waza technique . The difference is that Tsuri - te is like in Uki - Goshi not Tai - Otoshi .

In the Bujinkan Takamatsu-den arts it's like "falling boulder" or dropping a big stone, but it's a different throw.

As far as I know, otoshi means something like drop, so tai otoshi is "body drop," tani otoshi is "valley drop," ganseki otoshi is "rock drop," sumi otoshi is "corner drop," etc.

Is difficult you find the guard in katas of koryus but this fight with the back on the ground was developed in randori in Edo period and sport randori (Jujutsu competitions). All the techniques you find in Bjj came from the Jujutsu competitions and some from Kosen Judo, brazilians and americans created some stuff but the structure with the biggest part of techniques was japanese creation

The amount of hatred Chadi has towards BJJ makes me smile....as someone who practices Judo and BJJ, I find both sports amazing, but tbh its usually Judo guys who frown upon BJJ guys; I mean, all my BJJ friends think it's great I cross-practice while Judo guys always try to look down on BJJ as some glorified aspect of Judo

@@Chadi@Chadi, come on, Chadi) I have been practicing Judo since I was 10 years old. I love martial arts, but we have to agree BJJ is much more welcoming of innovations and does not have the same hatred towards Judo. Especially guys at Danaher and Renzo gyms. You cant disagree than Judo guys frown upon BJJ heck you do that in your every single video

It's ok that you never learned to berimbolo, just because you suck at jiu-jitsu you don't need to hate those who are better than you. Berimbolo is an awesome technology and involves lots of fundamentals as deLaRiva hook back control and etc... Indeed if your coach/sensei do not know how to berimbolo they probably going to tell you it doesn't work. Too bad for you. 🍍🥋🔥

@@Chadi 🤡 that's how you feel when everyone is taking your back using the berimbolo and all you can do is say it doesn't work... Just because you cannot do it, it doesn't mean it does not work. Highly recommend you find a knowledgeable coach/sensei who can teach it to you. Good luck and keep the good work. 🍍🤡🥋🔥
