Client uses a lithium battery to operate his Centurion D5 Evo sliding gate motor.
Lithium batteries charge at a different voltage compared to a normal lead acid battery.
Lithium batteries needs between 14,4 to 14,6 volts dc, where lead acid batteries should be charged at 13,80 to 14,40 volts dc on the upper end.
A original Centurion Cp84sm power supply will supply a Centurion controller card with enough power, but the charging voltage is too low, in order to charge a lithium battery, thus the system needs to be set correctly to get the charging voltage to between 14,4 and 14,6 volts dc.
This was done the day on which the equipment was sourced from the parts supplier.
Before the new Centurion D5 Evo gate motor parts could be fitted, Pottie had to make sure that the basics were correct.
The gate motor was secured down into the concrete slab, by adding steel coach screws and steel plates, which were welded.
The steel gate rail had to be welded into place, as it was forcing down onto the gate motor pinion gear, and the support brackets were too far apart.
The gate motor was also cleaned out of spider and dust, the gate motor gearbox oil was checked and found to be correct.
The doss disc had to be cleaned out as oil was present on the doss disk.
With all the basics in place, Pottie proceeded to fit the new equipment into the Centurion D5 Evo sliding gate motor.
The Centurion D5 Evo gate limits were programmed and then the existing remote transmitters were programmed.
The gate motor was tested and found to be working properly.
Client was informed of what things he needed to look at to ensure the gate motor runs for another 15 years.
