Finally got around to hearing this... And I'm not disappointed. I love how Turisas follow their own path and don't stick to a formula. Seriously excited for this album.

After several listenings I begin to find the song rather good but your analysis is extremely right. People often don't understand when I try to explain things as you do. To listen to some complex music can be perceived as elitist but it is especially truely a real pleasure ! :)

So far, to me, the only thing that Turisas has ever done to disappoint me is to not play Cursed be Iron any of the 3 times I have seen them live. Their music is diverse, well composed, intelligent and entertaining. Can't wait to see them again!

Totally agree, been listening to Turisas since they came out and they keep changing, if they did the same old folk (which is still good) some people would bash them for doing the exact same thing. Congrats for them for evolving and doing their own thing, like they should.

You should know that Turisas is always changing, trying new things, you shouldn't have expected the old folk sound... I love them and respect them because they're not afraid to experience with something different, even if that mean to lose fans (closed minded fans). I think the song is great and the heart of Turisas is still there :)

I don't know what you are talking about, it's still Turisas to me. Don't expect them to play the same style forever. As Artists they have the freedom to paint the canvas however they imagined it to please them and to surprise the viewer. I believe this song was released to surprise you guys with something new,something they've been working on, Turisas will always be battle metal, but they're evolving and they will always have our support.

I just love it how people judge this album based on just ONE SONG. Yes, this song is different than anything we've heard from Turisas before, but I still like it. I think the melodies are cool and Warlord sounds more unique than ever. Oh and the piano lines are great. Turisas have said many times that this album is their most diverse one and that they have songs that are faster and heavier than anything they've written before. So if you think that the whole album will be like this you're wrong.

I don't find myself imagining stories of epic battlefields and glorious travels. I don't hate the song, but it doesn't give me the usual Turisas-chills down my spine.

I love Turisas, I love this song. Band's are allowed to change, guys. If you don't like it, suck it. If you want the same thing over and over again, go listen to pop. This is Metal. I like my Metal to be creative and avoid getting stale.

I found that the song (rather than the album) Stand Up and Fight struck the perfect balance. It had the power, and the sheer viking-ness that made me fall in love with Turisas, but also the lyrics weren't part of a story as much as the others were, but were more personal and motivational. This song has grown on me, but I personally hope it doesn't set the bar for the rest of the album. I'm still going to buy it either way :D

They said the album will be pretty heavy and "raw".. This is the softest song on the album. So dont expect the entire album to be like this.

I think they are in sort of a directional bind. They finished their Varangian Guard arch and I wondered where they would go. Do they keep telling stories, or do they just go back to singing about whatever strikes their fancy? I think this album will be... awkward, but I predict a major return to awesomeness in their next album, once they've had time to let something inspire them like the Varangian Guard did.

Although this song lack the ''epic'' feel that Turisas brought on previous albums, it is overall a good song. We have to keep in mind that the band change and evolve, if they took a slightly different direction on this track, but we can't judge the whole album based on one song only. Let's wait and see

You're mistaken. "Pop" isn't a musical genre; it means popular music, and the definition for that changes all the time. You could say that it's something that plays on MTV and/or radio, the top shelf stuff you might find in a super market. Turisas isn't quite there yet ;).

When they were releasing the album "Stand Up And Fight" the first song that came out was Stand Up And Fight which is one of the best songs (if not even the best one) on the album. So when I listen to this I hope that this song is not one of the best on the upsoming album :))
