7 years ago I've heard Turisas for the first time and I'm a big fan of theirs for about 5 years now. Also, I'm listening to metal music for almost 15 years now so I know what I'm saying. One thing is certain, Turisas only gets better. If you people don't understand these new songs, you never actually understood what Turisas is all about.

Yeah the Album's not out in the UK yet. I chucked this up a while back before it was launched anywhere. I've listened to a few songs since, including Run Bhang Eater Run. To be honest I like what ive heard so far. Gonna wait till I get my copy before I listen to anymore.

Funny like people always don't like new stuff from awesome bands. First album was pretty much melodic black metal with some epicness, second album had more epicness and less black, third one had loads of epicness combined with some rock, now apparently we have more rock than before. It's a quite logical development. And I personally like both new songs very much. Also, betterdivcide the fans than have everyone say "yeah it's okay... but no more".

This song is actually pretty good. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. As long as the songs they produce continue to sound good (I wasn't overly impressed by "For Your Own Good", by the way), I'll support Turisas in their choice to pursue different styles.

I like this track much more than "For your own good". Kind of epic, this one. But Stand up and Fight was a great album, so I hope the rest of the tracks will sound like those Turisas.

yeah, you are right about drums. but yeah, this is different than the first two albums, and in my opinion really good. and (in my opinion) Stand up and fight did have really unique sound.

Atm I agree. These aren't my favorite Turisas songs and the album might not live upto previous ones. My point is we don't know yet. It just gets my back up when people disregard an entire album from one or two songs.

It looks like most people here aren't turisas fans, they are viking metal fans, this album is very turisas, not very viking, they make it very apparent during all their interviews that they love making every album and even every song radically different from each other, creating a really unique sound, which I love, it sets them apart to me, while listening to other bands for a while their songs all run together eventually, but with turisas that isn't the case for each song is really unique.

the album title wasn't that good agreed, but this song is awesome! there is nothing wrong whit the instruments, and the singing is awesome also. they did a very good job on this one. and same thing with "For your Own Good" as well.

I like that the drums and other instruments are more organic that previous albums. I like that it *feels* different... but that's personal-taste related. I don't understand all the hate from all these idiots on youtube. People need to let the album happen and try to understand the direction and message the band is trying to convey. Keep true to your artistic vision and people will respect it. I dig it. Looking forward to hearing more.

I think those songs are exactly what people were criticizing about the genre. "Yeah, let's drink with our swords!" Sure, those types of songs are tantamount to the genre. But the Norse were amazing technological innovators, explorers, and artists who did a lot more than drink and ride into battle.

Last year I discovered Turisas, was blown away and loved all three albums because of a very distinct sound and charm. How the fuck did they change my mind so drastically in the space of a year with this bullshit?

He's the head of the band, and writes most of their music, and it's always been like that. Still he's not alone responsible about everything they do, Olli is also very much in the turisas publicity stuff, and he's doing many of the interviews alone. The entire band makes the music because they decide together, with the old members this might have been slightly different, but they still decided they'd make an album for live shows, taking all the symphonies away from this one.

Everyone bitching and moaning about this not being Turisas anymore, fuckin get over it. They've release two song so far, TWO, from the new album which they said were purposefully different. There will still be songs on the album that hark back to the Turisas we've gotten used to, they've said that already. That's exactly my problem too :| Ollie said that violin had no place in For Your Own Good, hence we can't hear Olli at all in that song. He promised that there will be violin in the album though. (but I didn't hear Olli's violin in Into The Free either)

I honestly don’t get a lot of the criticisms the new songs are getting. Yeah this one in particular has a few awkward vocal bits but IT’S A SOLID TRACK. They did say years ago they would slightly change their sound with each album so this shouldn't come as a surprise to people. And If people don’t like the new album when it comes out, they will release a new album in a couple years and change their sound again like they said they would do. I still love this band.

Get back all your hate, guys..Well, we all see they've changed. But they said it- so they know they've changed. They grow up and obviously have something to show , working in different direction. But if they make the same kind of songs over and over again, they would maybe got bored. Or maybe get other people bored. And then what? You would say "Hey, do something different,it feels that you don't do it from the heart" etc..But you'll always have the previous "battle metal" albums to listen to.

Is it just me who's thinking that these songs are a message from the band to the fans? Look at the lyrics, this song sounds like it could be about them giving up the whole battle metal act. For your own good sounds like Mathias telling us they're changing, and that it's for the best.
