Druid multiclass is definitely my thing. I ended up with several druids (including Tav), and turns out I kinda dislike druid's gameplay on the higher levels. Those 4+ minions are extremely annoying in the world as well as in combat, but are impossible to not use if they are available, so I prefer to just not go that high to not have to drag them along everywhere. My Jahera is currently a dexterity-based 2 spore druid/9 open hand monk, and I must say she seem to be my highest damage dealer of all, except maybe my Tav. Maybe she'd do even more with str elixirs, but sadly I don't have enough of those to sustain two characters, so she has to stick to dex and no tavern brawler. She has a staff, but don't recall using it as actual weapon (it also the one that boosts unarmed attacks). Anyway, with spore form + monk passive + a few items she's usually soloing most enemies in first round, so I'm yet to see if she's any squishier than other characters, to be honest. And my Tav is actually a 6/6 split druid/fighter, and just runs around smacking things with 2 legendary maces buffed with spore form.
@lastructchure3896 ай бұрын
How does spore druid adds to a martial class?
@LoneIrbis6 ай бұрын
@@lastructchure389 because of the spore form (Symbiotic Entity). Each attack gets 1d6 necrotic damage. The more attacks (weapon or unarmed) you make, the more damage per turn it adds. So it's more effective for classes that can attack with both hands several times per turn.

This is much worse in the late game, but I found myself spending more and more time as the game progressed just trying to figure out what gear I should use. A lot of aoe spells works without breaking sanctuary too, it just happens that moonbeam is one of the best early / mid game spells and moving the beam doesn't cost spell slots.

Paladin/Cleric is quite powerful due to Thunderous Smite+Destructive Wrath+Luck of the Far Realms combo (easily hits for over 400+ damage in a single attack). Considering that Paladin builds are typically burst damage builds the ability to oneshot just about anything once per LR is super powerful combo. I usually prefer it in a Paladin 2/Tempest 2/Swords Bard 8 lvl split but even just a Paladin 2/Tempest 10 build is very powerful. That said I do think that your A tier evaluation is fair and just wanted to share another powerful Cleric combo.

So the max damage you get with destructive wrath + thunderous smite is only 12 thunder damage. Love all your vids. I feel you are sleeping on Cleric/ Monk though. Only because the action / bonus action synchronicity. Putting a tank with spirit guardians that can do cleric actions then using Monk bonus actions like flurry of blows is amazing. I don’t know that using an offhand attack by a rogue would match up to that. Granted, this takes more ability scores and will want an additional item or two. But the club of hill giant strength is perfect since you’ll never need a weapon.
@thomashightower78816 ай бұрын
The issue is that Monk and Cleric's best abilities are achieved at higher levels. While spirit guardians is powerful, and getting flurry of blows is also powerful, it's not necessarily as powerful to have both as having two flurry of blows a turn AND the bonuses a 9th level monk gets. I don't think Monk and cleric is weak, but the synergy isn't super strong even though both use the wisdom stat. Cleric and Monk both want to be your primary class, so they fight each other a little.

Sorry, I was talking about at 50:05 when you called it a classic and one of the most powerful builds in 5e, I thought the martial/druid multiclass that would have that reputation would be the Bearbarian. The only reason given for why it’s that powerful was that it has high AC, but isn’t that invalidated by the use of Barding? I never thought AC was even that important for WS Druids because they just get two massive pools of hit points per short rest, which have much more impact on the limited encounter days of 5e. For example, you discuss free flight as a benefit of a sorcerer dip, when you only get that if you're specifically a -storm cleric- storm sorcerer. Experienced players know what you're talking about, and I appreciate you're trying to relay a lot of information while practicing brevity. But it never hurts to use qualifiers where warranted. You have to assume that people new to the game are listening to your videos. Which they should be. 🙂
