Nice one Mr. Rad man! Your videos is always so high class! For IPA or Panel Prep products I would like to hear your thoughts on this... from DIY Detail Yvan said one of the best tips I have ever heard, but never thought of myself... to remove the residue from polish all you need is two towels with one being a little wet with just medium hot water and the other one fully dry. And you use the wet one first followed with the dry one, of course. I tried this when I polished my car and there was never any polish products left anywhere. And the panels felt as perfect as can be to the touch and looks. So I think there is really no need to spend money on all of these panel prep products. There are so many bottles with labels on that we all spend so much money on, and I guess in this area we can save some from not buying panel prep bottles.
@RADGarage9 ай бұрын
There's no doubt that some of the products we like to use could be easily replicated with warm water, but since this is a hobby for me, I don't mind having specific products for every little use. If I was a pro, I would be way more inclined to consider more cost-effective methods and means.

Awesome job as always Rick! Great job on the curb rash repair...sadly I also had a mysterious incident occur to a previously perfect set of wheels. I also know it definitely wasn't me, but I like to keep my marital relationship free of professional help whenever possible...so I guess it will remain a mystery. I'm currently working on getting my 2 year old to say "curbs are lava" whenever were pulling in somewhere...so hopefully that will help. 🤣 It is very satisfying to have all the tools to do a job, and when it comes to coating (and particularly recoating) wheels there are a lot of tools required. Last year I recoated a set of winter wheels after spot polishing some damage incurred during tire installation. After a month, the only part of the wheels that had any coating behavior was where I spot polished. So even though the old coating had reached end of life and wasn't shedding water anymore, it did reject the new coating I applied. Today I'm going to start getting those wheels polished out fully so I can get the new coating to stick. How was the coating application? Was it fairly easy to work with? I'm thinking about trying it out, might do 2 wheels with my current favorite coating and 2 wheels with this Armour Wheel to see how they compare side by side.
@RADGarage8 ай бұрын
Hi Jeff, sorry for taking so long to respond to your questions. The application process is as smooth as you can expect. I let that coating set up for a few minutes and levelled it out after a few minutes as it was super easy and satisfying to work with. I highly recommend giving it a go. We will see how long into next season it lasts. I don't typically get a lot of months out of wheel coatings up here. As for the curb rash, it will remain a mystery until the end of time...
