CERBERUS +1 [Destiny 2] Community Selected PvP Breakdown / Play Test

This video is the 4th installment of the "5 Games" series. This week, the community has voted Cerberus +1 as the featured weapon! So I'll run the weapons damage numbers and then take it into the Crucible for 5 matches and see how things go! Enjoy! 🍻

Much can be done to make this exotic so much better. For one thing combine Spread Shot Package and Four Headed Dog into one perk and add Deconstruct. Then increase the magazine and give it something like Rampage. Lastly change the catalyst to give you a meter like Revision Zero. When the meter is full you get Aggressive frame shotgun ammo as the seconday fire mode.

Ohh!! I do really like the though of having a charge meter that allows it to fire as a true shotgun! That really adds some additional flavor to our other weapons with that function, and it feels like something similar it could fit pretty well on Cerberus! 👍🍻

I’ve got about 1300 kills on Cerberus in crusible I really enjoy this gun I just wish its catalyst was better now of course I don’t use it often anymore since I basically never take devils ruin off now I’m sitting at 37000kills with my devils ruin glad to see some one not look over this hidden gem though

Im sitting at nearly 9k pvp kills on cerb, its one of my favorite guns lol. Its taken a few hits with the fall off changes and an effective body shot damage nerf with the hp changes, but it still got that dog in it.

You can make cerberus somewhat consistent, but its mainly learning like muscle memory on engagement ranges and what range do you go for the head or body. The updated catalist for final shape is rather nice though and the reverse damage falloff can help give it some ranged versatility (though targeting mods are a must have for it). Its not for everyone though thats for sure and devils ruin might be better for that fast ttk up close anyways but i dunno, im just attached to that gun, especially since i like to pair it with a legendary trace rifle One thing to note, arc soul with getaway artist massively helps increase the performance for cerberus, so its something worth pairing with that gun

Imagine if the catalyst actually tightened the shot package, increased range and handling with each consecutive kill, up to like 5 kills, making it a run and gun monster. Maybe even a mild damage boost of like 3% for each kill would potentially make it even more fun, haha!

This was my first exotic weapon when I came back to Destiny 2 like a year ago. I remember thinking "yeah, this is fun, I kind of like it" and then I read a review on the gun and immediately dismantled it lol.

Imagine this shooting at 450 better barrels and the catalyst changing from an auto to a shotgun on certain number of kills, similar to how revision zero works

What's funny is that Cerberus got a huge rework with TFS and it's a different playstyle now.

I have been doing a little bit of testing with it, and I do plan on getting a video out regarding the change. It doesn't feel like a major buff, but I think it is a net-positive for the weapon and worth talking about briefly! 👍🍻

The alt fire hurts Cerberus too much especially the ROF nerf. If anything I would trade a wider spread but 600 RPM just to rustle more jimmies lol!

Hahaha! That's actually a pretty interesting idea. I'd be much more inclined to try and make use of it for quicker kill speeds, even with the risk of missing more projectiles increasing. 👍🍻

Still one of my favorite weapons But damn Can it use a buff Tighter projectile spread Fixxed pattern with no randomness. Range boost on the alt fire

It would be nice to see it's consistency and usability brought up a bit. I feel like this is a weapon that Bungie has always been very careful with though. A little too big of a buff in either respect , and Cerberus could be insanely good...although the thought of a Cerberus meta does make me warm and fuzzy inside! 😂🍻

I was playing around with Cerberus yesterday and the function of the alt fire mode has definitely undergone the announced rework, but I think the spread may have been loosened up a bit to account for the fire rate improvement, and the removal of the range cap. I'll have to do a bit of testing with it before I'm ready to make a judgment call on the change. 👍👍

I usually default to Vigilance, Leeching, Remnants, and Expulsion. Of course they do get swapped around if a setup requires something specific. 👍👍

@@IronworkerGaming oh I see. That’s quite an aggressive setup which makes sense with Cerberus I guess. If I may make a bit of a leap, part of the problem you may be experiencing with Blink is that it lends itself rather poorly to most aggressive play. It’s extremely bright and noisy, you have a strict handling lockout on exit (even with Astrocyte), it can cause weird melee teleports at close range, and it’s quite easy to track. I’ve found it most effective as a mid-long range repositioning tool, letting you rapidly move between lanes. I’ve had the most success with DMT or NTTE, but I know several hardcore Blink players who swear by 200 RPM scouts.

That's very possible, and you make an interesting point about blink using to reposition rather than directly engage. I think the main problem that I have with it personally is I have zero feel for how my momentum effects my blink range and my reentry point. Theoretically I have an understanding of it, but mid match, coming out of the Blink just a meter or two away from where I though I should have been really throws me off. I'm sure it's something that I could become more proficient with if I used it more often, but my old brain has a tough time processing the "now I'm here, and then I'm here" mechanic. 😂🍻

Be careful when testing an auto riffle against a Well Of Radiance. If you have Overload Rounds, the regeneration is delayed, and makes easier to kill in that situation. I love Cerberus. It' my best anti-shotgun... But the catalyst is useless...

Yeah, I probably should have taken Overload Auto off for the test. I didn't think it would have had much of an impact because when did a video on it a few years back, the disruption only seemed to suppress ability regen, but there's definitely to possibility for a funky interaction within the Well. 👍🍻

Bungie is reworking the function of the catalyst itself. I believe it's going to be on a kill activated special reload, but will no longer reduce the range or rate of fire. So you'll get that tight pattern at the standard fire rate with normal auto rifle damage falloff. It's sounded like a really nice change to me! 👍👍

That Elsie's rifle is so far from any God Roll. I have a 90 range with Keep Away and etc. About 60 of them and about 10 "God Rolls" PVP and PVE.

Yeah, that roll has since been deleted. After seeing how well a mediocre roll performed, I attuned the weapon and let the game shower me with options! 😂👍

@IronworkerGaming Problem is: I've had 600/600 for 4 years and 500/500 in my vault before that with full characters and postmaster. About 738 items. Every time I finish OnSlut, I mean Onslaught, I lose 15 "God Rolls" in my postmaster. I'm losing better stuff. I get about 20 weapons/gear on every run. I want to play Onslaught with no drops at all. It costs me huge, every time I play. I don't want to anymore. 😉
