Cerelle is a mini pill used to prevent pregnancy. In this video Dr Daniel Atkinson, Clinical Lead at Treated, explains a bit about how it works and who it can be suitable for.
Mini pills like Cerelle only use one hormone to prevent pregnancy: a progestogen. So if you’re sensitive to oestrogen (found in the combined pill), this could be a suitable option for you. Those who have migraines, diabetes or have risk factors for blood clots can also be considered to use Cerelle. This form of contraception can also help with heavy periods making them less heavy or frequent.
The mini pill is an oral contraceptive that needs to be taken every day. Cerelle does give you a missed-pill window of 12 hours, instead of the usual three found with many other mini pills.

Hi there. Thank you for your question. The mini pill can sometimes be used to help with the symptoms of PCOS - it can help to regulate your period. However, the combined pill (one that contains both oestrogen and progesterone) is more commonly used to help with symptoms of PCOS. Please speak with your regular doctor about the options available to you.
