I think it's fascinating how the weapons in the Bayo games, in this case the alruna whips, imply a forced contract between the witch and the demon. All the other contracts are a win win situation like with Madama Butterfly. But Alraune seems to be bound for eternity to the weapon and Bayo is harnessing her power. Just like Lt. Col. Kilgore, Kulshedra ect. . I hope we see another case of this in the third game

We NEVER find out just what the HELL was going on in this storyline by the way. Why did alraune hate Madama buterfly so much..who even was alraune. She came out of nowhere. Was teased early on in the second cinematic of the game,as a potental big bad..then defeated in one level and never spoken of again.

I mean, is it necessary? It was teased a demon had taken Jeanne in the second cutscene. Alraune was basically a petty bitch jealous of someone else's power, wanting to take over a portion of hell, from what she says at least. The fact she doesn't get any kind of finish other than, "Bitch, you a whip now" is well played. She didn't deserve a big bad slot in this game where literal gods fail at killing a human woman that is 100% badass and done with their shit.

Yes, I would love to get more backstory on the lore of Madama Butterfly. How did Cereza even contract a pact with her? How does an Umbra Witch contract demons? Why does she have the pact to kill angels everyday for Inferno or else she’ll burn in hell there? She was awake for 50? years after being awoken from her tomb (which I still think is unexplained? Why did Jeanne stab her? Why wasn’t she dead? Why was she in stasis for 2,000 years?) I feel like we’re missing a lot of lore. I understand that this is a story about a 9’6 stripper witch who uses all her clothes and hair to summon demons from hell, with 4 demons incased in guns for her, TWO OF WHICH ARE ON HER FEET! killing angels and demons all day while doing it in the sluttiest way possible. But I’m so invested in this story, I want to learn more about it!

@@SeaJayyyy Jeanne stabbed bayonetta with a special dagger to put her into a deep sleep for 300 years because bayonetta is - "The left eye, our treasured left eye, shall never fall into the hands of another!" and as of now the umbra witches are being attacked and eradicated by angels and the grieving Cereza is in no shape to fight hordes of angels. Bayonetta wakes up somewhere in the late 1900's and is immediately thrown into battle with angels. For an Umbra Witch to complete her training she is required to defeat a powerful demoness and make her become the witches pact partner. So Cereza was most likely trained by Jeanne (and her mother in very small amount) and eventually completed her training. The witches have to kill angels because the demons in inferno need halo's which are super valuable in inferno, we dont know what happens if a witch fails to fulfill her end of the bargain. All we know is that if an umbra witch is killed her soul is dragged down to inferno where she wonders for eternity or becomes an infernal demon herself if she is powerful enough. Bayonetta and Jeanne don't really have a choice but to kill angels since they are being attacked every other hour.

He's able to come and go to Inferno as he pleases, but he has a strict zero interference policy when it comes to Bayonetta's issues. All he'll do is sell her weapons and offer advice or information. The only reason he was even there with her for this stage was because the demon who stole Jeanne also happened to be his next hit.

If you read Lukas journal entry taboo, he states something about: a hopeless romantic risking everything for love and if anyone needed to go to hell and back he knew the door. And they've also had cameos in other games (which name alludes me) to where Rodin refers to Jeanne and bayo relationship as *partners,* to where everyones reaction is shock and disbelief. And first of all in the first game Jeanne gave bayo the jewel that she prolly still wears today, that had cereza and Jeanne inscribed on it. An obvious parallel to balder and rosa on the lipstick that symbol their love.

No, witches are dragged to hell and are snatched up by whatever demon they are unfortunate enough to encounter. The pact demons are a power source, which the witches compensate by killing angels for them everyday and is why if they don't, the contract is broken and they're dragged to hell.
