I A/B'ed a JCM800 2203 next to a Ceriatone a several years and there is no comparison, the ceriatone sounded better, fuller, more 3d, whether it was clean or dirty.. the Ceriatone beat it in every way.

Ceriatone does Marshall better than Marshall. This handwired masterpiece eats the Studio Classic's lunch. Of course Wan's playing doesn’t hurt either.

What kind of speakers are in that 2x12? Open back right?

80% chance that it's a closed back. The response is direct and you don't have a back echo on the record. Could be a mistake of me, but this is my opinion. For the speaker, he's probably using a chinese made celestion G12h30 or Celestion V30... difficult to say. At some times I tend to believe it's a G12H30, then it goes V30 sounding again. The snappy response and the foundation seem to lead in those two directions. But its just my opinion.
