What a fantastic watch, very Seiko in its design DNA, but with a highly accurate movement and 1000m depth rating! And the same price as a SPB-whatever with only 200m and less good movement. Its the watch that Seiko should be making! Certina really made a winner here. How does the rubber strap feel compared to a Seiko rubber?

Looks like a really sweet watch. I think the black dial would be my pick for two reasons. One, the limited edition text is terrible. Not something that should ever be put on a dial. Second, I love the yellow dial color but the yellow with the orange seconds hand does not seem legible. For me it’s the classic black for sure. Nice review as always. Don’t own any Certina but they are a fun brand to keep tabs on and I always like seeing a review of their stuff pop up on your channel. Keep up the great content.

As ever, fantastic production and clothing coordination! Certina are on fire at the moment. I must add one to the dive watch collection because not only do they have bonafide history in the dive space, but they are producing very high quality watches at very fair prices. That is unusual today and they should be commended for it and receive success. I never thought I'd say a Swiss brand would make Seiko look poor value, but the DS series really make a mockery of Seiko and others' (Doxa, Zodiac, even Longines and Tudor's) pricing.

Nice one. Certina rivals Longines with its heritage releases; over takes it from a cost V's quality standpoint. It's a shame that this isn't available in the Australian market given its history as a RAN issued watch. I'm tempted to buy one of the LE's - but it's not something I'd wear often. I'm happy to admire it from a far ... and continue to wait patiently for the 'Dark Knight' re-issue! ☻ Great production quality again Andre. One of my favourite YT channels. ☻

Yes this watch is awesome. I had the chance to hold it in hands a few weeks back in a store in Lucerne, was close to buying it but I prefer the black dial and will get that soon. The robust feel you get with this is awesome but still they care about finish and details so that it's a piece you could wear everyday without getting bored of it. Great video as always!

Managed to pick one of these up recently (990+ of 1000). Absolutely beautiful watch. Not sure if I'll ever dive again or even wear this watch very often but it is a joy just to own it. It does wear smaller than one would expect based on images and specs. Very comfortable.

Congrats on the acquisition. Can you tell what was included in your box? I received mine but without any extra nato strap etc. Some people clame that they have extra strap in the box ewtra springbars also

@@baptistelegrand9295 Mine came with the strap extension (rubber I think) not a NATO strap. I think that different models (the non limited one, the 500m one etc) come with different straps/extensions etc. Maybe the other people have the other models.

This release is very exciting. It is rare that I find a reissue to be nicer than the orignal model. The price is also extremely competitive. Think that this highly capable and well finished watch is about the same price, if not less, as the Hamilton Khaki Field Expedition, which was also released recently by the Swatch group. Sadly, they share the same Powermatic movement that will be problematic to serve by independent watchmakers. Not ideal for a tool watch that can be worn in remote places far from any AD. Recently, I had the opportunity to buy a new dive watch, and I went for the Squale 1521 in part because it uses a standard Sellita movement. (Great review as always!)

Thanks! So far, it has been great. It will work if you are looking for a a classic and straightforward design. It is surprisingly comfortable on the wrist with the hidden crown, it goes well with any strap, and it has just enough of a vintage vibe to recall the golden age of dive watches without being caricatural. It is still a real tool watch. Until now, I am also satisfied with its accuracy.@@BraveBeaters

I like this. I have been considering the orange super diver for a while but this looks to have a nicer case. But I wish it had been a little more orange/less yellow. Just my own taste. I’m considering a good diver and stuck between the Monta ocean king, the marathon GSAR, the Sinn U2 and possibly now the black version of this. I love the color combo! I thought all new divers had to have a lume marker at the date position. I have the Certina Ph500 (thanks to your video), and it has a lumed marker at the date. I wish my PH500 at least had an orange minute hand 😊

Eventually decided on this model. My first powermaric 80 and don’t know if I’m lucky but it runs +1 per day . My only ‘issue’ with it they should’ve added the same steel edge on the hands like they did on the hour markers. Especially the hour hand looks bland.

Actually it isnt. 1000m vs 200m. No alignment issues. Better case architecture whith 4 holes drilled underneath to allow flushing of salt build up under the bezel. Better bezel design (push lock). Applied indeces vs pressed and painted. AR coating underneath only. DS shock absorption system. 80 HOUR POWER RESERVE. Better Strap. Signed Crown.
