There's more than one Powermatic 80. Certina uses the 'good' one. Welcome to Certina, they have been involved with sea turtle preservation for many decades and the bezel is something they've done before...Look into them, you'll be amazed at their history. Had this watch for 3 weeks now, screams summer with the colour (pair it with a colour matched strap even better) a retro diver with a great history and backstory. The bezel does take some getting used to, but its like that for a reason. Super cool watch (ok I'm biased😅) its my go to summer wet stuff watch (any wet stuff enthusiast will love this and at half the price if a Doxa, its got it nailed). 1st time ive seen this channel, like it so 1 new subscriber👍👍

I have been looking for a Certina for a while. I only own a dress watch from the sixties by the brand. This one looks really nice and not at all like the usual bricks for such a big WR and the bezel action is really cool. The price looks also very reasonable. Alas, it is too big for my 6.5in wrist.

I have a 6.5 inch wrist. Fits perfect. Don't be fooled by the dimensions.

Check the DS Action Diver 38mm in black or blue. Even though it has male end links I can pull it off with my 6.5 inch wrist but it really comes to life on a Nato strap.

I’ve been looking at them for a while now ,and the ds action diver 38mm they seem pricey but it’s the same with all the “Swiss” watches

Bought one used after I sold my SPB143. Price was exactly one third of the Seiko and the Certina beats it in every aspect except the lume. Best of all it accurately keeps the time.

Another reason for the non ceramic/sapphire bezel insert. No chance of cracking or shattering at 1000 meters.

Oh dear, little or no research on Certina's great dive watch history or even the history of the classic model this new version homages? And the comment "its something to do with Sea Turtles.....'????? Won't comment on not knowing how the bezel worked beforehand....

Spot on - no Certina history , no idea of the bezel and no word on what this Sea Turtle branded version supports. As he say ...forgive his ignorance???Or perhaps lazyiness...

I totally agree, Edmund. Apart from the OMG effect, it damages the leaf spring by forcing the bezel and misses one of the niche points of this watch… vintage and modern recreation. This also applies to the aluminium insert. I don’t own a Certina, but this one is high on my ‘want’ list.
