One question. When the chain in so much stretched, chances are it might have also worn out the casette and when a new chain in put without changing the casette, under tension it might slip.

It's crazy to me that the previous owner would buy SUCH a nice, expensive bike, and then seemingly not care, or take the time to learn, about things like the seat being pushed past it's max point, or the cassette having that play which was such a simple fix.

I feel like you put a lot of work into a probably already fairly used up cassette (considering the overstretched and dirty chain), when a new one is 40€.

What a satisfying video! How did you torque the pedals? What tool you used other than the torque wrench? Mine can only work clock wise so the torque of the left pedal can only be estimated.
@Bikespeeds
@Bikespeeds Жыл бұрын
The majority of torque wrenches only torque clockwise, I have a Snap-on one which also does anticlockwise I only use this for pedals and threaded bottom brackets.

@@Bikespeeds Got you! Maybe sending my bike to local bike shop would be the cheaper choice LOL! Thanks!
@jeremynorth
@jeremynorth Жыл бұрын
Pedals don't need torquing as the threads are designed to prevent them unscrewing as you pedal. Similarly with the threaded BB

I have the same bike, and my handlebars are slightly loose (with force I can turn the handlebars separately of the front wheel). Which of the bolts do I need to adjust? I’m worried about over tightening either of the two screws.
@Bikespeeds
@Bikespeeds 2 жыл бұрын
My answer would be, if you’re worried about it and aren’t 100% certain how to do it, take it to a bike shop, it will cost little if anything to get it done correctly. Safety is paramount!
@austinbrdo
@austinbrdo 2 жыл бұрын
@@Bikespeeds I did today and tightened the bolt to 12nm per torque specs. If I hold the front wheel I’m still able to move the handlebars. Wondering if there is a fault with the system
@Bikespeeds
@Bikespeeds 2 жыл бұрын
@@austinbrdo nothing on that stem should be at 12nm, you run the risk of fracturing the steerer tube. The adjustment for the bearing is separate to the stem. I’d recommend taking it to a bike shop for piece of mind.

So what was that gray powder? Never heard of something like that -maybe I'm too much of a pleb to know...
@Bikespeeds

Molten speed powder, it’s supposed to be worth extra wattage by reducing some friction, it’s not necessary but it is a nice touch👍🏼🧡

You don't check the bolts for the chains rings? Or you just don't show it in the video. Because most of the times they don't have the correct torque setting.
