Wow, I knew cameras got complex, but so many layers. It's quite amazing that they manage to fit all of this tech (basically a whole computer with good mobile gpu and all this hardware) and the sensor shift inside there. Makes me respect the price more.

@bananasandbass8 жыл бұрын
True, rose gold color and copper color are very different. And apple makes rose gold iphones by anodyzing aluminium in a certain color... which does not resemble coper color at all haha. Usually the simplest answer is the best: it's just copper, because it's heat conductive. It's not some fancy colored aluminium... because why would you put that on the inside of a device while that color like apple does is used for cosmetic reasons only.

+xmeda At the start of the video he states that actual 'work' he is undertaking is cleaning sensors, camera exteriors and, if required, performing sensor updates. He was working on demonstration cameras so the public could see just what was involved in taking them apart and putting them back together , and the technology inside
@Photogearnews8 жыл бұрын
+CDNChaoZ They were using demonstration cameras. It wasn't a real working environment - just made to look like one. The technician was performing sensor cleaning, exterior cleaning and firmware updates - as he stated towards the start of the video. Obviously they wouldn't just let someone pick up and wobble a customers camera

the mobile cameras with ois implement the same thing inside very tiny package and their lens is tiny enough to wiggle along with the sensor. This is quite similar to the way laser-diode+lens in mounted inside the optical drives like cd/dvd writers (yep, I like taking apart stuffs. and lately their chances of survival have become much better). My dad's camera had a large 400V capacitor for flash, it gave me a nasty jolt while I was poking around =D

I own a Sony a7r VI with a Sony 24-70 gm lens. Why is it that when I use AF-C to shoot. The camera lags a bit when I want to rapid shoot on single shot option? I tried everything from changing around the settings but it only made a slight difference on the speed performance. I even switched sd cards and nothing. I tested my lens with Sony and it's fine. I have the latest firmware and nothing...... Can anyone help me please

Here is where I'm not on there trust side of Sony, so how does a weather sealed body get moisture? Canon is the best when it comes to weather sealed bodies. I'm afraid to take my camera outside now.
@ThePandaPhotographer8 жыл бұрын
Shi Womino Yes and No but Sony had told others it has some weather sealing and some retailers are advertising this camera to be weather sealed. Read the information even on B&H website says so therefore someone is informing the. It does.
@ThePandaPhotographer8 жыл бұрын
Shi Womino ok if it moisture resistance then why does this camera have moisture inside? Listen to what he said when opening the body. As I said before I think it's all bullshit if Sony claims its moisture resistant and dust

I just shattered the glass of the viewfinder from my A7Rii somehow in my bag :'( Not sure how much the repair (changing viewfinder) would cost... ? Does anyone have experience with that type of repair?
@rammsteins887 жыл бұрын
Quite expensive, the viewfinder alone costs at least 40-50$, and you have to disassemble quite a lot to get to replace it. Ask your local Sony service center for an estimate.

DON'T BUY A SONY CAMERA WIHTOUT READING THIS FIRST: I'm a Sony ILCE A7R2 shooter. I've been a Sony shooter for a long time (since the SLT models) and also a Sony customer in other areas (TV, DVD and so on). NEVER had I any problems with my Sony stuff. So far... In november 2016 my A7R2 presented with a focus problem. In lower apertures it was a little bit out of focus. So, dutily, I went to the Sony representative here in Portugal. After a few days, they said it would have to be sent to Spain, one of the TWO centers in Europe that could fix this camera. After a few days, they said that the problem was with my lens (I had to send my Zeiss 50mm 1.8 along with the camera, because they said they had no lenses to even test the camera!). It was impossible, because I have 5 FE lenses and a bunch of A-mount lenses and ALL worked perfectly with my other Sony FE camera (and also with a friend's too). Then... silence. For the last 40 days I haven't heard again from them. And I call EVERY DAY. Not even complaining directly to Sony Portugal did any good. So, Matt Granger was right! I thought it was a problem with Australia, but no, it's international. I'm not a professional, but that doesn't mean I should be without my camera for months in a row, especially for something so simple as a focus adjustment. My conclusion: DO NOT BUY ILCE CAMERAS. They are WONDERFUL cameras, but God forbide you ever need a Sony repair. And now I have more than 7.000 euros worth of equipement sitting in my shelf waiting for the good will of Sony to fix my camera. Man, how I wish I had not fallen to that and have heard Mr. Granger... Perhaps some internet reviewer could do a test and send a camera to Assistance WITHOUT disclosing they are professionals and see how long it takes in other countries to have it fixed. Hope it helps other people NOT to jump into the same lake I did.

Really surprised the Sony technician was not wearing an earthing wrist strap. Also not working in a "clean room" as the Sony sensors are dust hungry monsters. And to let that guy "pick up" stuff like the sensor is a travesty I would never let that happen. Actually a really poor video and advert for Sony and if I was head of technology there would take it down as a really bad advert for Sony QC and handling of extremely sensitive electronic parts and equipment.
@RubberWahel8 жыл бұрын

it's your new A7 from b&h? for my experience, sony products(other than cameras) do not live long. you can find for ex. old Compaq laptop, that even company does not exist and it will work, but if you want 5 y.o Vaio it will be a hard target. and canon/nikon cameras well-known by it long span of life. So if you fancy picturer, that change camera every year and not sell tham at all, so sony, but if you want to buy a camera for yourself fo long time so canon/nikon personaly me , wlill not afraid to buy 12 y.o 5d (if i will find for $100)))) or 9 y.o 5dMK2 but i will afraid to buy used A7 ,especially from photographer . only if I personaly have a friend like this russian technician in video)))
