I have the Yeti 400 w/ 2 extra 35AH battery on the side connected by Anderson connecters. The unit is over 100AH this way. The unit runs my CPAP at the cabin and has plenty of power in the morning. I charge the Yeti with a 100W solar or off the ac plug when the generator is running in the day time. Having the unit I do NOT need to run a generator at night. YOU DO NEED THE EXTRA two batteries to give the unit to power the CPAC needs without running the unit down to zero. I ran it without them and the 400 was at zero power after 7 hours on just one 35AH battery in the unit. The extra batteries make the unit over 100AH. I love the unit, well built and you get what you pay for, higher price in these units are shown in the quality and features. The yeti 400 was $450, extra (2) batteries $125 and the anderson cords $25. I do have a 100w solar $125. with connecter cable to yeti about $20. and the extra panel mc4 50' about $25. You can have a killer unit for about $750.00+/-.

It really pays to do your own research. I've heard from some negative people about Goal Zero and I'm going to be perfectly honest with you I have no idea what the hell they're talking about ..maybe they don't know what they're talkin about either! but Goal Zero f****** rocks I'm about ready to go by The Goal Zero Yeti 1000 and I can't even control myself I live in a van I have a solar panel with two auxiliary batteries and inverter and a charge controller that I can't wait to tear out of my van and replace all that stuff with one unit.. rock on Goal Zero can't wait for the next big thing you come up with.

At about 2:50, she was asked the question about Daisy Chaining them together, and she talked about later in the year they were going to "develop" a way to hook up lead acid batteries to it to be able to expand it, and said it's never been done before. It may not have ever been done before by THEM, but Inergy Kodiak already has that ability, PLUS, it has the ability to be recharged in about a quarter of the time that this thing takes to recharge due to its ability to handle 600 watts of input energy. The yeti 3000 might have more output ability, but so far, in the research I've been doing, the Inergy system is by far a better product in bang for buck. The Yeti incorporates a lot of stupid and useless "yuppie" or hipster features that are completely irrelevant. (being able to connect to your stupid phone, etc, ) If they put the money used for that dumb stuff into actual real life usefulness, they could have a comparable product, if not even superior product to the Inergy Kodiak, especially if they decreased the recharge time. And that would not be a hard fix at all. It's just kind of clear who each company is going after for who is their customer. For goal zero, it's customer focus appears to be, people who have no idea about solar energy, or energy in general, other than plugging something in, young hipster gadget focused people who need to be connected to their phones, and have everything be able to be controlled by their phones 24/7, and glampers. Inergy seems to be focused on people who understand what is important in having portable energy; having a fairly large amount of output power, but also, the ability to quickly RESTORE that power so that it available for extended periods of time.

Yea idk about a free battery generator and if it was I will get the big one. But unfortunately the down side is that won't be able to get the full set of it. Also will have to pay shipping for it. Also will have to buy extra add on's like solar panels and a better grid charger. Like for example plugging in 4 laptop adapter chargers and + solar at the same time so that way it will take about 4-8 hours. But anyway still they are not cheap and also don't have a job now yet.

The unit itself is a nice ideea. I bought one (1000 watts version) from Costco for 1000 plus tax, more for testing purposes. The battery inside is made in China by ICON Energy Systems, and has only 500 cycles, charge discharge. For a lithium battery must be very low. A good Tesla battery should do 3000 cycles. Imagine you have a electric car that you can charge only 500 times. I assume this Icon battery is a lower quality China thing at 500 cycles. This is the heart of energy storage and 500 is not great. Price its high when you compare a Tesla Powerwall at 13500 watts cost 5500 usd, and comes with fast charger and inverter and has 10 years warranty. Goal zero has ONE year.... Super expensive for what it is. It should be no more than few hundred. When people will realize how expensive it is,and how short it lives.... Prices will drop. Or competitin will jump with cheaper versions. Completely overpriced for 1.4 kwatts of power Than white headset looks funnnnny,

I think I'll just wait for the next one to come out that's going to have a little bit longer life 5000 Cycles would be really cool..but 500 would be almost a year-and-a-half and then you have to buy a new battery at a price of about $250. thank you my friend. @@1161909, 5000 cycles? Good luck waiting for that. Goal Zero states that their products will go 500-800 cycles and at the end of that time will only have 80% of their original capacity. For most people, this is more than enough. I doubt most people use these the same way they use their cell phones (which also seem to lose capacity around the same time). If you're draining the product once per week, you're talking over a 10 year life. If your power needs are really that high, consider getting a gasoline generator.

Nice, But built my own a lot more versatile for 1/2 the price and 3times the aH. That said, its a neat "package" but get a real charger and no you cant charge it in 6hours.

They have a 2et power input port that boosts more coming charge to the batteries, vs the 3 plugs built on the unit. It's a optional part for the 1000-1400 systems, but comes with the 3000. They also have a optional Gas generator their supposedly coming out with that has a direct fit up to the electric 3000, that'll charge it 10times, in less then 6hours just from the direct charge port. 2et. these are Lithium versions with high priced cells, Not cheapo cells you can get for 10$ that are 2200mah. Or using a crappy 'CAR' Lead acid battery (Flooded.). The Lead acid batteries in the older Yetis are AGM (non flooded.) and have better discharge/charging ability. So unlike a Flooded battery, AGM's can be discharged completely and recharged without probs. Unlike the 50% with flooded batteries. So you might've built yours for super cheap. But in packaging, power, and the effort put into it. It's reasonably priced. Tho i still go with their older lead acid batteries for the more cableable system. You can get a Yeti 400 Lead-acid for 400$, buy 2 of their battery replacements (which are 34ah.) and have 3x more power then you'd get from their lithium version, and flexible for more hookups or recharge swifter. for 640$ maximum.
