My best friend is always on about her current dog not liking colour/breed of the month. She was like this with her ridgebacks. i cant say much for her smaller insecure dog, but her bigger girl, she was my baby whenever I could get round to see them (I think cos she reminded me so much of my own dog, huge, goofy, dumb but as sharp as a button when she wanted to be.) Every time I walked her, I never had a problem with her ever, even when I dog sat and let her off the lead cos she came when I called. But she was older by then. but my friend would even get worried if ppl came her way, cos them ppl 'might' be scared of such a big dog... to me, that was their problem, not mine or the dogs, so I didnt get anxious about it, and nothing happened.... shame now she's got and ankle biter who doesnt listen and barks at everything :S (but saying that, Aunty Bane still loves her ass when I'm over, I just dont let her off the lead, not after that one time...)

i would love to hear Cesar Millians opinion on dog cones for preventing them from messing with wounds. is a dog cone the best choice? would a muzzle be better? what can i do to help my dog through this? is it ok to take it off for suprivised amounts of time then put it back on or would it be better to leave it on the whole time, how to feed a dog with a cone that dosent want to eat with one on, etc.

I had a shihtzu that acted the same way. She was so focused shed bite anything when she got that way. She has chased a pitbull and its owner down the street. They got away but she didnt stop until she got to the corner. I never saw that woman walk by again. It was an accident she got out. Normally i had the leash on before i opened the door. My border use to take up for herself but she never hurt my shihtzu. The shihtzu sure tried to hurt her. She was that way from a young age. I got her from my mom after she died. She bit me all the time but she'd kiss me immediately. I sure miss her. She was 20 when she died.

My border got attacked in front of me by a huge pitbull. It was horrifying. The owners just stood there and i jumped off my deck and ran but couldnt jump the fence and run another 100 ft to get to my dog. Fortunately a different neighbor stopped it. My dog could barely walk. She had staggers for days. As a result i had anxiety issues so i understand where shes coming from. However i did take her around other dogs. She loved to have friends. Most wonderful dog i ever had.
