The most creative player I've seen. Full stop. He was simply creating chances like nothing. From every angle, any distance, short long, on a set defence, on a break... You just give him the ball, boom! Chance. And evem the stats back this up. During his prime Arsenal years he was on the top of the list for created chances and by a distance. His assist rate was brilliant in those years. And he wasn't playing in a team like City had recently around KDB. He was carrying Arsenal and was creating for guys like Adebayor, Chamakh, Bendtner, Walcott etc (Van Persie was injured for most of the time). Not for Haaland, Aguero, Foden, Sane, Sterling, Mahrez etc.. I'm just taking KDB as a reference point because the new generation thinks he's guy who invented an assist in football lol. Fabregas was way ahead with his vision, pasing and intellingence.

The best through-ball passer I've ever seen in the PL. Guys like Bergkamp, Ozil and De Bruyne are very good, but this guy was just magic. There wasn't a pass he couldn't see.

In my personal opinion Fabregas was better than David silva. The assists of fabregas was a delicacy to watch remember the assist to shurlle in 2014_15 season against burnley and the story goes on. Fabregas started playing for international team when he was 19 and I would say whenever he plays he would create atleast 4-5 sure goal chances in games.

that goal for arsenal vs tottenham always stands out for me as a mark of his true genius, how a player with no pace or power can take a ball from the kick off and dribble right through the tottenham team and score is something i still haven't seen done at that level from a player who is so limited athletically... the definition of footballing vision, quality and skill..

A player that was tailor made for the EPL at the time. Some might forget or are too young to remember, but Fabregas was always a bit of an oddball with Barcelona and the Spanish NT at the time, since both FCB and the NT were practically intertwined at the time in terms of tactics. Many felt that Fabregas was a bit too meandering on the ball and always looked for the incisive pass instead of keeping it simple where needed in order to maintain the "defensive tiki taka" shape for both Spain and FCB. Despite his prolific stats, he didn't always find his way into the starting XI for Spain. I remember Pep being continually frustrated with him at FCB. It was said at the time, but he really should've stayed with Arsenal. While Arsenal had a habit of choking away titles after the move to the Emirates, they were never too far away either. With van Persie ascendant from 2012 onwards, Fabregas would've feasted. Nevertheless, he certainly had an impact for Chelsea upon his return to the PL. All told, an unplayable player on his day and one of the greatest midfielders to grace English football.

The only reason you said he 'played well' because he was surrounded by world class players. He didnt have many chance as a first team starter as a matter of fact.
