Boy you have to trust your A&P on that runway! No hiccups in the engine allowed!

Any chance you might share some details of the STOL kit. Where from, approximate price but most importantly, what’s the new stall speed, Take off distance and landing distance. Why all the questions…. My property has a 220m grass strip one way out , one way in. Been looking at a 150 for some time as my Xair needs a hanger so it lives at my local airport but a Cessna could live at home and share the grass with the Llama and his flock of sheep. Look forward to your reply.

You need to deploy flap after full power and rolling.

I had to go back and look and i see 10 degrees of flaps in which is called for in that plane for a soft field take off

Excellent

That looks more like a "soft field" TOL -Maybe just to me? But I never seen any flaps or a rotation in ground effect to build speed and then a sudden high rate of climb to pattern altitude, -but still a good little clip. CLEAR SKY'S TO YOU!

Watch the video again. STOL in a 150 only calls for minimum flaps and they were deployed that way. What I missed was the sound of running the engine up to full power with the breaks on before takeoff as the manual calls for.

Where's that strip at? Looks nice!

Is that Electrical wire above?
@odyssey19zp7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's a transfer wire about 30,000 volts. It prevents the go around option. I never takeoff toward them which requires downwind takeoffs.

In the desert South West where I live it seems to be a requirement, oh hey here is a power transmission line lets build an airstrip right here.

Try out our Alaska Bush pilot take off. Just when you are getting up to the take off speed drop your flaps and after gaining enough speed retract them. You'll find that you can get off the ground quicker. Look up the Valdez Alaska flying get together and you will get the idea of how we do it here.

Talk nicely to the power guys and they might Bury the power line for you, it worked for us at no cost to us!
