Will this newer CJ4 be faster & longer range than the latest phenom 300E ?
@PersonalWings3 ай бұрын
The performance of the CJ4 hasn't changed with this new set of avionics.

Oh ok I thought they added winglets to the gen 3 version that would add some range, thx
@PersonalWings3 ай бұрын
@@rmoore7734 The small winglets on some of the Citations, e.g. M2, are more for ramp appeal than performance.

Why would Cessna put the autoland button by the glareshield? That is only easiest to be reached by a....incapacitated pilot? You have a center pedestal that is closer. If a passenger has to come up to the cockpit only to find pilot/s who are unable to continue flying, Cessna wants them to reach over the throttle quadrant, over the yoke, under the glareshield, lift the guard and press the button? While possibly two pilots are in the seats? In possible turbulence?

We don't know if this will be the final position for the selector. Some installation of Garmin's Autoland are in the overhead panel, which others are on the instrument panel.

The worst is TBMs placement. Right above the autopilot panel a big fat red button. The one button that's probably never ever gonna get pressed, is in the most "in your face" location it could be.

how do you think this stacks up to the Phenom 300 and the PC-24?
@PersonalWings3 ай бұрын
I've flown the Phenom 300 and the PC-24 a few times, however 2400 hours in the Citation Jet series. We have a few You Tube videos and articles in Twin & Turbine and AIN. It isn't an easy comparison, since they each have their advantageous. For comfort and versatility the PC-24 would be the top choice, for speed and range - either the P200 or the CJ4. We acquire jets for clients and there is no one best choice, it depends upon a number of factors and personal preferences.

I don’t think Textron is going to sell many of the Gen 3s if they don’t treat the rest of the CJ4 owners any better with the way they are dealing with the windshield SB. Half a million and a 14 month wait to fix a manufacturer defect isn’t very appealing for customers.

I'm not sure if I could deal with all those fingerprints on these screens and so many options on where to display information. Don't get me wrong, it's cool, but I prefer buttons and switches.
@PersonalWings3 ай бұрын
There are a lot of options! Generally pilots will develop their preferred input locations. The screens are fingerprint-resistant which helps to a great deal. We do sell a cockpit display cleaning kit on our website :)
@Kaipeternicolas3 ай бұрын
@@PersonalWings what does such a kit include? I usually just use a high quality micro fiber towel on the Garmin screens and that usually does it. Are the new screens more fingerprint resistant than the older gen? That’d be great indeed!

Oleophobic is the word of the day. Same as on my new iPad Pro.
@PersonalWings2 ай бұрын
@@OngoingFreedom It does help, but you still see them on the displays. It is definitely better than some other touch-screen avionics One reason we sell a display cleaning kit on our website!

Proline21 is great. I still do not see anything you showed that is easier than Proline21. Waste pf money.
@PersonalWings17 күн бұрын
I like PL21 and fly with it almost every week - however it is based upon 1999 technology and lacks many features of modern avionics. We also fly with Fusion, however Collins has done a terrible job of supporting that platform in the Citations. You always have a choice, which is great about aviation.
