What’s the difference between a CF-18 Hornet and f-18 super hornet?
@aviatornick36605 жыл бұрын
André Carvalho what do you mean it’s the predecessor of the super hornet?
@aviatornick36605 жыл бұрын
André Carvalho oh so it’s like a newer version of the super hornet?

André Carvalho alright sorry it is the predecessor
@BullGator-kd6ge5 жыл бұрын
@@aviatornick3660 The CF-18 is the Canadian version of the FA 18 hornet which is built in the US. The Super Hornet (which Canada doesn't operate) is a newer and more modern version of it.

@@aviatornick3660 Hornets with the A, B, C, and D, are considered Legacy Hornets because they are the oldest models. The E and F models are the never Super Hornets.

This was my first year going to Airshow London, it was definitely worth it. I live on a farm about 5 miles northeast of the airport so I would watch from the top of the silos and the Snowbirds would always get into formation right above me and it is cool as hell. It's completely different watching it from the ground seeing all the maneuvers.

Thanks for the great footage! I saw that Hornet demo three times this summer, and it always impressed me! They did a twilight show at Abbotsford and the afterburner was breathtaking.

Great for emergency landings you can string an arrester wire over a std runway. Plus if you need to operate from a carrier :)

An airworthy CF-18?
@maryrafuse22975 жыл бұрын
Strange comment. The CF-18 has been updated several times. It is more modern than you think. Yes I would like to see the F-35 in the RCAF but the updated CF-18 still has a role to play over the north. I would like to see both aircraft operational in the RCAF.
@doogleticker51835 жыл бұрын
@@maryrafuse2297 - You can only "renew" the airframe so many times (I'm a vet, I know my birds). The masters of the RCAF should either get on board the F-35 train or buy SuperHornets or the latest F-15s until they get serious. Perspective: the UK has already adopted the F-35 alongside the Eurofighter...why is that? It's called keeping up with the Joneovictches.
@johnready6305 жыл бұрын
I'd rather see the Super Hornet replace them and stay with 2 engines over our vast northern areas.

Some of the best dirty rolls I've seen is within 4-5 seconds after the gears get off the ground, this one is way mooore than that.

Is this an ex RAAF airframe???
@doogleticker51835 жыл бұрын
No, the Aussies used their maxed out 8000 hours of airframe life and got the nitwit Trudeau to buy junk instead of making a decision about replacing the puny F-18 fleet Canada has. He became an Honourary Aussie Feminist in return...

They will be replacing their Cf-18 fleet in a couple of years with either the Saab Jas 39 E Gripen, F-35 Lightning II, or F-A-18 Super Hornet. Airframes are still in good condition tho.
