I really got demotivated sometimes when my performance in a QBank quiz (using Kaplan) was very bad, thinking I was not learning enough or that I was going to fail the Exam. What I did notice is that those really bad performances made me learn way more from the mistakes than from the reading themselves. Watching this video felt so reassuring because now I am no longer seeing Qbanks and BB questions as testing my knowledge but rather helping me consolidate it. Great Video Dr. Mark! Thanks a lot!

Hey Mark, great video as always. One trap I fall into is taking too many handwritten notes to reinforce the content but it tends to slow me down tremendously. You may have covered this in a previous video but what is a good balance between watching videos/reading/taking handwritten notes in your opinion? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I have a question. I'm now starting to study CFA L1. My study strategy is: watch 2 LMs per day(90LMs ~ 45 days ) and after finishing them go straight to the EOCs that CFAI learning ecosystem has. After about 2 months that I ll be doing this, get to MM Question Bank and do only this for about a month. Later I do the 2 Mock exams CFAI endows you with, to finally sit down for the exam in May. Is that a good strategy? Do you have any pointers I could use?
@davidbrunik99984 жыл бұрын
Good video except there is nothing new here that you haven't said in previous videos. You should link your study structure for each level in the description. I found those videos much more detailed and helpful. As always, thank you Mark!
@MarkMeldrum4 жыл бұрын
That is true. But over time older videos get pushed down the list and I find myself answering the same questions all over again. So every now and then I do a video saying basically the same thing for newer viewers.

Prof Mark, I recently discovered your website and your channel through the word of mouth and Reddit. I am appearing for CFA L1 Dec 2020, and really want to stick to your videos and free content on your website. All I wanted to ask is, the videos under the "Free Content" over your website are for the 2017 exam and would it be okay if I stick to them for the Dec 2020 L1 exam?? Where do I find the latest ones with curriculum changes covered??

Dr. Meldrum, quick question about cycling through the review videos every couple weeks. As I progress through the contents, do you recommend that I watch the review videos cumulatively? i.e. I finish quant, do quant review, then move onto fixed income, finish fixed income, do quant and fixed income review, then move onto derivatives, finish derivatives, and do quant, fixed income, and derivative reviews, so on and so forth?
@MarkMeldrum4 жыл бұрын
I would cycle through them all, until I feel I don’t need the first set anymore, then the second set, and do on. Sort of like a rolling 2 or 3 section review.
