CFI Spin Training

I tried as hard as I could to get this C172N to get past the incipient phase of this spin. With full left rudder, and full aft elevator, I couldn't get the plane to really enter the fully developed spin.

Need to stall/spin it into a turn to get the 172 to really spin

Who is the instructor? I don't recognize him. I'm surprised you were spinning with a back-seater.

Instructor is Jim MacKay. There is no back seater. We barely made it inside the utility category with 2 of us and 16 gallons of fuel. The camera is attached to my headset.

Tropic Cookie Find a local airport and see if there is a flight school there. You can fly a plane right away without any previous study or training. About $100/hour the engine is on to rent a small plane, and about $40-60/hour for an instructor. Some flight schools have a discount for your first flight. They call it a "discovery flight."

Tropic Cookie Yeah, give it a try! Look into paramotors too. They are more affordable and a lot of fun and very safe if you do your homework and training. Lookup Tucker Gott on KZbin.

What spin? 3 wing overs. Nose never went close to vertical and bank went only to about 90* -- no spin also no audio --- but head-mounted camera only thing likely to cause nausea

where are you taking your CFI?

+Graemehatz The checkride will either be with the FSDO or with a DPE if the FAA is too busy to give me a checkride. I'm based out of KMYF in San Diego.
