Every time I hear a song by this man i've never heard before i am at a loss for words. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Dallas.

I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but this song has a very mellow, almost Bob Marley type emotion to it. Especially in the harmonica sections. Either way it's a masterpiece.

"Body In A Box" There's a funeral procession on the highway, Traffic screeches to a halt. There's people searching for a better way, To live their lives. Johnny lived a good life, you'll hear them say As tears of sadness soak the ground. The reaper crept in, took his breath away, In the middle of the night. [Chorus:] We celebrate the lives of the dead, It's like a man's best party, only happens when he dies. We gather 'round to pay our respects, While their souls are still searching for the light, Searching for the light. So please don't come to me on my dying day, Just let me go in peace. With all the things that I forgot to say, Racing through my mind. And don't you bury me six feet under ground, Just burn my body in a box. And let my ashes blow with the wind, Out into the night sky. [Chorus]

Anyone know the key of his Harmonica? I've read everywhere that its 'A' but recently he's been playing the Harmoinca part differently to the album version. It might be stupid of me to ask but is it a different key or simply played differently?
@felipearanha190610 жыл бұрын
It's an A harmonica and you can check it at 2:20 in the video ;) And yes... He's playing quite differently compared to the studio version

He uses a 1944 00-17 Martin guitar
@NotNickCook8 жыл бұрын
Aaron Gutierrez it's a 1948 Martin 00-17. It's an old all mahogany model. They used mahogany in the World War Two area because it was a much cheaper wood and with all money and resources going towards the way effort people couldn't spare substantial amounts of money towards things like instruments. So they were made cheaper. All mahogany guitars have a unique rich sound that really compliments people so sing tenor. It doesn't carry a very loud tone though so is best when amplified. Hence why he always uses that LR baggs m1 active set up :). Hope this answers your question.

Close, but the 00-17 has a gloss finish and a wider nut for easier fingerstyle
