Maintaining culture will be the main challenge this offseason and next season. Under the new roster limits, with the number of transfers Tech has taken, that is turning over close to 20 percent of the roster. Add in the freshmen, and that’s a lot of new.

Level beings up a good point about our team not looking like an SEC team. Should we be concerned that going into year 4 with Joey this is the case and we are so reliant on the portal? Seems that only Roberts, Wilson and Lewis are his only recruits playing.

You bring up a great point. Maybe look to who develops these guys from a weight standpoint point? Seems odd that guys 3 years in the program can’t make the field but relying on the portal isn’t that bad. Ole miss does it and Colorado does it and they have expedited their programs growth recently.

Totally agree, I’m not gonna really hold the 2022 recruiting class against him because he basically had 1.5 months to put it together. But this hype around Blanchard and his “system” of evaluating players seems flawed we haven’t had great production from HS recruits, we’re not fast enough and getting smaller. Maybe the 23 and 24 class turn out great in a year or 2 but right now if revenue sharing slows down portal movement I’m worried about our recruiting misses.

@ I agree, the evaluating system needs to be looked at. I applaud CJM for having the courage to let TD go, but don’t stop there look into everything. Even last years portal o-lineman were small with the exception of Vinny, who had the right measurements for left guard. I think we need to be big spenders in HS recruiting too. We don’t have to have the biggest class, just go after 10-12 high 4 stars and develop them instead of a 3 star. It has to be balanced or we will be screwed if a starter goes down due to a big drop off in talent.

After seeing Ŧ’s Bowl game play , or lack their of , and the mixed results that ended in a disappointing loss I’m excited that McGuire and staff r continuing their aggressive Portal strategy. Question, will the new rules include some kind of Injured reserved players on a team’s roster?

Well, TT had the talent this year to content for the Big 12 title, so what I think the problem rests with poor coaching from maguire , so much investment on the football program, and not getting the results expected! might be time evaluate the head coach! another coach? .!!!

@ Not sure what game you watched but Ŧ’s D Line and Def Backfield play regressed significantly from McGuire’s previous 2 seasons. Same coaches and scheme(s) that would suggest the players couldn’t execute. If I had a dollar for every missed tackle I could have purchased season tickets.
