One of the best interviews! The intersection of science and spirituality is the future of healing for not just chronic illness but the human condition

That peripheral expansion exercise is used in Buddhist meditation. They talk about softening the gaze as well. It always amazes me how much Buddhists had worked out (neurologicaly speaking) hundreds of years ago.

Yes, yes, yes! This is an amazing interview and so much truth! I love this and I've totally seen this as a spiritual invitation. Brother Lawrence (in the 15th century) said "God often gives us diseases of the body to cure those of the soul ". 🙏💝🙏

I hope this helps: much of what she’s saying is nicely captured in a book called Good Energy by Dr Casey Means. In the book she goes into detail about ways of promoting mitochondrial health through sleep, diet, movement, sunlight, sleep. It’s less strong on the mental/emotional bit.. Essentially what the author says is move a bit and throughout the day if you can, eat healthy food, get some natural light, relax, do things you enjoy, connect to other people, implement good sleep habits. All common sense stuff really. As Anna says in the video, once these basics are in place, and you’re still sick, go looking for specific issues related to you. It could be trauma, a circumstantial challenge, mold, gut problems - and so on.

This is an absolutely amazing interview. Thank you so much Raelan and Anna for sharing your wisdom. All that Anna said resonates SO deeply with me, and I often miss this broader, more holistic perspective in other recovery stories. Wow. Evolutionary intelligence is a new buzz word which I am going to take away from this interview, finally finding a language to express a somatic feeling that's been there all the time. To me, it is truly about this: living in a way that acknowledge our true human needs. Just yesterday I noted (in my daily journalling exercise) that I accept life's task of ##Rewilding myself. Something handed over via chronic illness and now to be figured out. Not easy but obviously not impossible either, as Anna role models :). Thank you!

Do you? Would you be talking about Maharishikaa? I very much admire her work and her teachings. I have differences with her in some respects, but her central message about surrender and embodiment is truly stunning, I fhink, as is her correction of Neo-Advaitan and New Age teachings on certain things xx

So powerful for healing so much. My dad got diagnosed with prosthetic cancer. I am trying to get him to approach his recovery differently.
@kim-ys2fsАй бұрын
get him off carbs n sugar if possible and as clean and ancestral as possible (200+ years ago foods, pre agriculture even better), cos then growth speed reduces, giving more time for intervention and redirects internal healing away from any diet induced 'underground' inflammation we dont notice

@annagrear4167Ай бұрын
That's really sad. I went through some very negative experiences too. I'd even call it spiritual abuse, actually. Not all spirituality is the same, thankfully. I'm so sorry you had such a traumatic experience.

I love this! I like how she explains right in the first 10 mins or so why proper light/cold exposure, movement, social connection (even if with plants), nutrients, and a calm system are all important elements. Then the key of self-directed neuroplasticity using techniques such as bi-lateral stimulation or peripheral expansion to calm our body via our minds. Spirituality has been huge for me as well, I love the discussion of how it leads us to deep healing. But my favourite part was the part at the end about changing the metaphorical symbol from tension to harmony in the body and how that can heal relationships. Wow!

We have a lot less control than we think we have. Trust the Universe. How did Anna know she had a viral overload? I developed ME over 30 years ago after EBV and now have long covid.
@annagrear4167Ай бұрын
Hello there! I had a viral panel done. It was very helpful. Revealed a particular virus that I was then able to target meaningfully. I'm sorry you have had such a long haul - and now Long Covid. That's rough.
@Jojorocks23Ай бұрын
@@annagrear4167 my doctor thinks those tests are a waste of time. How do you get a viral panel done when your doctor won’t do it? And what kind of virus Uses and how do you treat them? Would you please explain? Thank you.
@annagrear4167Ай бұрын
@@Jojorocks23 Sure. I was seeing a functional specialist through the Optimum Health Clinic in the UK. We ordered tests from (I think) Armin Labs. The panel showed a ridiculously high load of HSV1 - at a systemic level, and also high levels of cytomegalovirus. I went on a suppression course of Valaciclovir and followed up with L-Lysine regularly. It was highly effective. I'd look at consulting a functional practitioner if I were you. I hope you have some success xx
@kim-ys2fsАй бұрын
@@Jojorocks23 Dr sarah myhill's website/books has a protocol which starves out ALL pathogens n boosts the immune system I used it to great effect as my NHS doc wouldnt do the tests. It requires you to learn n understand to a high complex degree, but its cheapest route to go, also sorts out any gut dysbiosis issues, hormone issues etc if you tinker with it, which she explains. She understands ME/CFS co-morbidities and writes about them too. This way, you take the power of having a robust immune system into your own agency
No doubt there will be a video on You Tube, but just put both thumbs in front of you at arms length, then whilst staring ahead become aware of how far you can you can take your thumbs out and back to the sides, once you become aware you don't need to use the thumbs..... that's probably much too complicated but you get the idea 😊😅😅

What I notice across all the self-help sites is that there isn't any one way to heal anything. Some do it with visualisation, meditation, some with diet change, some with brain retraining. There are as many ways as there are people wanting to heal. I reckon what works is the belief that what you do works.

I get the gist of what she’s saying, but it is complicated and vague in this interview. Did she say she had a book? Maybe that would explain more.
