I want to share my experience of how I mistakenly believed that I had Visual Snow. My vision decreased after stress and I began to see poorly in the dark, especially there were ripples (pixels like 240p video quality). I always had ripples in the dark, like all people. I thought I was suffering from VSS and started seeing flickering dots on the wall and other similar objects in the dark because I was fixated on them, they are identical to when you see red blood cells when looking at the daytime sky. They are not visible throughout the entire field of view, but only on certain objects. I asked my friends, relatives and other acquaintances. It turned out that they all saw it that way, some even explained it in detail. I calmed down and my symptoms decreased. And one day I met a girl who really suffered from VSS and shared her experience. It turns out that the difference between a healthy person is that he sees small dots and ripples, but only under certain conditions, on certain objects and with weak intensity, while a person suffering from VSS sees constantly and throughout the entire field of view

So do you think that is normal to see static in the dark? I’m in a really stressfull period and I start to notice the statics, before that they never bothered me i didnt know i have it .. the optician told me that my eyes are tired and to drink more to help with floaters beside that my eyes are ok, i think is realated to my nervous system.. I’m so afraid to have VS and I panic a lot.

Honestly, the thought of having visual hallucinations just terrifies me. I already have olfactory and auditory, but at the moment I can still trust my eyes... I do experience the flashing lights, particularly at night while trying to fall asleep (and you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to fall asleep when you're just dog tired all. the. time.) And I do see the snow occasionally when I stand up quickly.

A lot of the symptoms you don't need to do anything, you just need to leave them be and they go away on their own! Have a look at these videos to get a better understanding of what's going on and how the body is trying to recalibrate itself. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGallWmrgsSijac Also, here's a playlist I created that will help you deal with symptoms if you're looking for more info on specifics: kzbin.info/aero/PLJT8-UVmfsmKHgGkCQPKkmHgZL11LqvJa

I thought so too, but it turns out these are ordinary Phosphenes. Visual snow is when you see all the time, and not in certain situations that provide stimuli.

Well glad to hear it because I've been dealing with 24/7 for 9 years now and it's just being getting worse to a point it's difficult to read anything explicitly when driving.

I started to have anxiety and recognized this flickering when i looked around in the dark, at blank surfaces, the sky… I googled it and found the „visual snow syndrome“ so i thought i have this and i drove myself crazy with it, because i was looking for the mild static every second being awake. So i began seeing it on almost everything as well. When i finally started to ask my friends about this, they told me they see this as well. I stopped paying attention to it and now it’s not important to me anymore. And it went away. Of course if you look for it… it still is there, that is normal. I still have the feeling that everything is a little bit slower and a little bit unreal, but i‘m sure this will also go away when my anxiety is fully gone. I‘m on a good way. And you are too. I think there are a lot of people who fixate on this and think they have VSS but are actually perfectly healthy. Drink a lot of water. Take supplements like: Quercetin, fishoil, vitamin d, vitamin k2, b vitamins, magnesium and so on. Eat healthy. Take long walks or hikes, warm and cold showers, blue light filters… It will get better. I promise! :)

I had a panic attack smoking weed 2 years ago. And a couple weeks later I had another panic attack with the same feeling. Then my visual snow appeared. It has always been around but when I’m more anxious it flairs up more. Or it flares up more then I get anxious lol. any recommendations on what could cause this ? Or help fix it?! I feel like my nervous system took a big hit that night a couple years ago.
