Flew the MB326H during my RAAF pilot training years ago. Delightful aircraft to fly. The cockpit is quite similar to the 339 and brings back memories of limited panel instrument flying "under the hood". Not too sure about the amount of buffet on takeoff or on finals in the DCS simulation. I seem to remember a very smooth ride in the 326 but quite possibly the 339 has different characteristics.

I've enjoyed my first few sorties in this plane. It's nice to have a new trainer, and it has some good light attack capabilities too. A buddy just got it as well, so we're going to try to have a bit of discipline and practice flying properly on occasion. Looking forward to seeing a few of the known issues fixed, especially making the flight director work and fixing a nosewheel durability problem. My only criticisms - the mirrors are pretty nasty when they're turned off, and a few clicks are unexplainably left mouse vs the standard right mouse. Overall a really nice release from IFE and I have no doubt that their customer-focused methods will shine in that community as they have in MSFS. Maybe in a few years we could see the 346 in both sims as well? A guy can hope!

An M346 attack variant would be ‘da 💣!’ 😄 They are good at following through with updates so I’m sure they’ll get it tip top in no time.

@@cgaviator Glad you asked, the last thing I remember; is, I was sitting in the Mustang you know looking around getting some seat time finding what I needed to start on the joystick setup, then all of a sudden BAM I was killed just sitting there on the ramp. Also, as far as I know, it is impossible to pop in and out of the sim to look up and or fallow a KZbin tutorial. So that was it for me too old too tired to jump thru hoops. I do enjoy watching your videos and others playing the game. Cheers.
@cgaviator2 жыл бұрын
@@pe1pq shame, though a couple of pointers. I don’t fly multiplayer often or if at all. So I don’t get shot all the time! 😂 The sim is actually quicker to load than MSFS I find. The flight controls are a pain. Go to Escape menu (or from Home Screen) and go control setup. Set Axis (buttons underneath) and make sure there aren’t multiple peripherals conflicting with pitch and roll etc. It’s DCS’s major downfall is the lake of commonality across aircraft types. Each model needs setting up separately
@Parabueto2 жыл бұрын
@@pe1pq Personally I find binding controls in DCS a lot easier than in flight simulator because you have all of your controllers sat side by side so you can keep track of the same input across keyboard, joystick and throttle simultaneously if you want. Learning what you need to bind though can be tricky. For modules that have been out for a while there are "Chuck's guides" which have a suggested diagram of controls to bind to a HOTAS. then it's just a case of going through what you want to do with the plane and putting appropriate buttons in if you need them. It's a bit of a hassle to set up for each aircraft as opposed to FS where you can just jump in and go, but because the planes in DCS have different controls in the cockpit and this is modelled, I prefer it- you don't get a situation for example where nozzles on a harrier for example are bound to a cowling flap and if you have a twin throttle and want to fly a twin engine aircraft again you have to change the control settings every time you change aircraft. Wheras DCS has efort before you fly but then you can forget it and each plane responds organically. You can alt tab out or use a fullscreen window with a second screen to click out of DCS (Although doing the latter minimises DCS, something that only crept in a couple months ago). I often have tutorials up on a second screen.

Good to see you in DCS! MSFS looks fantastic but the flying is decidedly MEH for anything other than airliners. Would be great to see you doing some of your navigation runs on one of the DCS Maps! I uninstalled the -339 from MSFS once the Hawk was out. Tried it again the other day and uninstalled it again. I'll definitely get the DCS version though - like you said, the flying is ever so much more satisfying, and the Pew-Pew keeps things interesting.

It looks a nice aircraft, I already have the L-39 and C-101 trainers, so this was on my radar to buy. I decided if it had a 20% launch discount, I'd pick it up, but at full price (£50), it's just too pricy for me and I still have the Mirage F1 to work through. Guess I'll pick it up later - only flaw I see from a gameplay perspective is it's lack of Air to Air missiles.

The quality and ongoing bugs, etc, of the model does not reflect the price tag at all, it simply does not warrant $60 US, the fact it is never part of a DCS sale speaks volumes. I trialled it giving it a fair go, if it impressed me I would have bought it on the spot, but alas. Personally I found the C101 to be much better quality and far more immersive.
