Fun fact. A Roman General who saw Cleopatra in person once said that she was actually fairly common in appearance, maybe slightly above average. He went on to say that it was her presence and bearing that _actually_ captivated people. He said that it was more charisma than beauty. This of course was one man's opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

This is even funnier, because historically, Cleopatra was not actually a great beauty. She was fairly average levels of pretty even by the standards of the time. She was, however, a very brilliant mind, a very clever wit, a talented conversationalist, and practically left a trail of charisma dripping off her everywhere she went. So historically, Cleopatra was actually considered attractive, and one of the most attractive women in history, MUCH MORE FOR HER PERSONALITY than for her physical appearance.

actually she was believed to be both beautiful and smart. When she left Egypt, she made her way to Rome. There she presented herself rolled up in a carpet naked to Julius Caesar. He was so seduced that he married her at once. From there, she used his Army to take back Egypt for herself from her younger brother.
@GuukanKitsune3 жыл бұрын
@@mehakverma7043 Yes, but she wasn't a mega-beauty like everyone says. I've actually seen what forensic scientists reconstructed her face to look like based on her mummy and bone structure. Average levels of attractive, that is, she was a regular looker, not a singular jaw dropper. It was her wit and personality that took her into the realms of the Great Hotties of History.

I think the point of this video is to show us that we need to be more CREATIVE then just having to do the EXACT same thing over and over. The real reason why I think she loved it was bc the painting was more colorful and DIFFERENT from the rest! It didn't even LOOK like her but she LOVED it anyways bc of how creative it was! There was a lot of colors and a WHOLE new different design!! This shows us that we should really be more creative and not making things so BLAND. Art has a meaning where YOU have to be creative!! Stop making art look bland bc then it isn't ART at all!! Be creative! Splash colors here and there and you will SEE how beautiful it will turn out to be!! Be creative! Stop making things bland!! ;)

Everything was drawn in profile in ancient Egypt because things viewed at their side are most recognizable to the human eye. That's why you'd never see feet in a front-facing view in Egyptain art. The foot was shown at the side because it was easier to recognize.
@caitlinpoling87185 жыл бұрын
@Eating food is wow It's actually cool you mentioned that! So Egypt is divided into certain periods. You have the Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom. Each period had distinct styles which evolved- the Old Kingdom had pretty strict rules about mural painting so you're not gonna see them deviate from that strict profile view until a little later. The Mural you're referencing is from the 18th Dynasty from the New Kingdom from Nebamun's Tomb. It's actually noted for the deviations it takes from old Egyptain art. The overlapping dancers. The frontal view.

This reminds of one of favorite childhood stories about an emperor who had very long ears and covered his head with a turban , he didn't even get a hair cut for a long time, one day he can't take it anymore and goes incognito to a barber but makes him promise he would never speak about it to a human ever, the barber promises that, but the burden of the secret is too great to bear so one day he digs a deep hole and screams into it "the emperor has a donkey ears" three times, feeling relieved he covers the hole and goes on with his life, over time trees grow around where he dug the hole and every time the wind rustled their leaves will whisper "the emperor has donkey ears" and if any animal eats what grows on there then their feces will whisper the same thing to anyone passing by, eventually the people where extremely curious and freaked out about this strange phenomenon and took it up to the emperor who had to confess to the truth, and I guess everyone lived happily ever after or whatever, but its silly and fun and shows that even rulers are vulnerable and self conscious too

I'm Egyptian, A COPTIC CHRISTIAN EGYPTIAN, I shout that out loud because we are the most pure blooded Egyptians out there and that's not only my opinion that's what Egyptologists, Historians and Scientists also agreed on , and I tell you that every word that Bassem Youssef said is right and I totally agree with him. Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like? With all due respect for all the Black people and all the other ethnicities out there, but we Egyptians are special very special, WE ARE NOT Black or White or Yellow, Not Europeans or Africans or Asians, Not Assyrians or Persians or Israelites or Nubians or Greeks or Romans or Arabs or French or Italians or Germans or British or Turkish or Ukrainians, Not Middle Easterners or Caucasians or Mediterraneans or Levants or Amazigh or Berbers or even North Africans.
