This feels like a story about dementia. Maybe it's because my grandfather just passed away because of it 2 weeks ago, and my grandmother memory is diminishing as well. I was just blessed that neither one forgot about the people who is important to them.

Through each such tale that slowly fade, Time's a thief that can't be trade. It reeks to take the former life, Down to last but ache and strife. Lost from thought, a guide to light, That shine the way to past in sight. For inch a day such age grew short, Closer and closer, their love was sort.

I think of this like a reoccurring episode that plays over and over from the beginning. Every time, it steals a couple more "faces" and progresses a little further, before he beats it and remembers. The disease(going with alzheimer's) takes hold a little more each time. This was pretty much the final episode. It was close. He was going to be gone forever, but she managed to bring him back, one last time.

Bravo! Absolutely brilliant! and thank you to all who provided feedback. You helped me to understand the depth of this masterful work. If I weren't so old, full of regret and under-educated I would've come up with more ways to express how great this piece was and how masterful it was presented. Damn I wish I still had tear ducts. This was something else. The best animated short by far in many years of viewing. Muchos Gracias, students of 'Escuela, de Primer Frame 3D Animation en Espania Valencia. Your degrees were well earned.

I think I've watched this over a dozen times. Each time the ending makes me cry. I can't exactly pin down why. The music. The clear symbolism. The actors. Maybe even the silence of voices and sounds. But every single time. When she gives him back his face, returns to him who he is, after he faced his demon for her... Ah feck it, starting to tear up writing about it.

Wow. This was so bizarre and trippy to me at first, it seemed to make no sense at all, and I had no idea what was up with the human centipede/dementor thing appearing in this noir detective animation. Then it got to the end and it turned out the dementor thingy was dementia, and I was like... mind. blown. Great going with the twist, and great going illustrating how horrifying it is to lose the ability to remember your loved ones, the end was so emotional. Well done, guys.

Quite an impressive animated short! No dialog, just imagery & music. Somehow it conveys a story, evokes emotion and moves the viewer from beginning through the end seamlessly. We are then 'faced' with the reality that the characters memories are what they are really trying to hold on to. Fantastic work.

It shows the chaotic mind of an Alizhemers sufferer. The confusion of remembering only small sections of your life. People, you can't put a face to a person, not a wife, a Daughter, son, husband. Quite often, you become locked inside this fractured world that once you knew so well, that now has become your enemy. Deaf to voices, not recognising words, that's why the film used minimal sound. You watch people's lips move, you know they're talking to you, but you don't understand them. Then occasionally, you become lucid, people you only half remembered, you know you know them, their name, relationship to you, it comes clear. Reprieve can be brought about by medical intervention, drugs that stimulate your memory areas, mood stabilisers to control the erratic mood swings, temper and violent behaviours. Antidepressants to help keep the dark hopelessness that comes from being aware of the changes that are happening. Or, it can be something totally idiopathic, one day confusion, wandering off looking for where you worked 40 years ago, back to the present day. The film did a good job of creating a fractured mind.

So powerful. The journey through a door to try to lead someone somewhere out of a pit of darkness that was stealing faces (memories). You don't know until the end when you see the wife was trying all along to help her husband's struggle to return - who has Alzheimer's - to remember long lost faces by showing him a photo album. She was able to break through, if only for a moment, for him to recognize her ... such a horrible disease that has no cure to this day.
