First two seasons were bangers but even then I knew that the sped up pace of the dialogue and fast cuts would lead to its demise fast. Then they started forcing the relationships where I honestly felt little chemistry between Erica and Geoff and Barry and Lanie and that demise just came way too fast. Very rare that a show's quality dips by the 3rd season. BTW, it was also the 3rd season when Sean Gambrione went through his growth spurt with his voice changing and him getting taller.

@@osaji922 I agree on all points! I still rewatch episodes from the first 2 seasons, but after that I've always been just one and done and then haven't watched any from this new season. They lost sight of what made the first two seasons great and got too stuck on "relationship" drama, never having the characters grow from one episode to the next, and started splitting up the story lines to the point that the A and B plots never intersected meaning the entire cast rarely were in scenes anymore.

Goldbergs should just end. As an 80's teen I initially loved the nostalgia of the show, but some seasons ago, they ran out of relevant 80's stuff to cover. Actually come to think of it, I think right around when the Grandfather died, that was when it really went off the rails.

Everyone is saying it needs to be cancelled and it kinda seems like they’re wrapping up right now...I assumed it was the last season with how Adam is finishing high school, Erica got married, Barry is finally in a healthy relationship, etc. It feels like a lot of ends being tied. I’d be shocked if there was another and if there is, not sure what they’d really do? I don’t think Adam’s college adventures would really be a selling point since it’s considered a family show 😅

I don't think he was, I think he left because he was tired of people reporting his self proclaimed "goofy antics" on set as sexual harassment and left because he didn't like working around people that were going to report him for everything he did. It could be that's an excuse he conjured up or the executives at ABC have been spreading to make it seem the allegations aren't as serious as they actually were.

I want them to never stop... I found this show in January and couldn't stop watching until I was all caught up. This is the first time I'm hearing of that. Also watched Schooled as well, was a bit disappointed the only one who didn't appear in it was Adam, using an excuse that the new Terminator Movie was in theaters to get out of a competition and he wasn't at the reunion. I do understand if they want to end it, and will support them if they do.

Ok, I know Jeff Garlin, (Murray Goldberg) was fired from The Goldbergs for his abusive behaviour onset, I get it, it’s a big NO-NO! However, learning after-the-fact that he has bipolar, as a viewer of this show, I’m uncomfortable with the actor being fired from the show, and I find it triggering as I’ve had a chronic illnesses all my life and I know for a factor I’ve lost employments because of this. Surely in the 21st century the production team behind The Goldbergs could have made a safety blanket for Jeff Garlin to make his work environment more accommodating for his bipolar, which isn’t his fault nor under his control? I don’t know but I can see The Goldbergs being axed in a season or two, it’s bad enough the show lost the late George Segal not so long ago, the sacking of Jeff Garlin, big mistake and at most, discrimination towards other performers who may have mental illnesses, through no fault of their own and be forced to hide their illnesses through fear

Wish the show could be saved, but with the loss of Coach Mellor, Murray, and Pops, it loses its variety. Modern Family had a similar problem when the kids all grew up and the dynamics changed. Sad to see it happen, but that’s life.

I personally think it's really stupid that they let him go. If there were accusations, I think they would come out with some type of proof that then appropriate and this happened. As far as the touching goes at least. But giving people a hard time on set joking or whatever, should not be a reason to let someone go. ABC, Disney, The Goldbergs- all a bunch of politically correct, cancel culture bozos. Jeff Garlin was not the problem, It's the LIBERAL WHACKS! Jeff Garlin is still a producer and a major character on the brilliant Curb Your Enthusiasm. The Goldbergs jumped the shark 5 years ago and are somehow still on the air with absolutely pathetic shows. They can't kill off Murray for the sake of continuity since he was talked about in SCHOOLED- the 90s spinoff series. Therefore, he would've had to live on to the 90s. The real Murray didn't die until 2008. The only way to save The Goldbergs would be to do a time jump past the point of Schooled and bring back the beautiful, talented AJ Michalka. BY FAR, Lainey was the best character in The Goldbergs (although I do love Sadie Stanley who plays Brea-- she is drop-dead gorgeous and will also be a big movie star). The one who played his first girlfriend (Dana- played by Natalie Alyn Lind) was also beyond gorgeous. In no real-world reality could that Adam Goldberg kid date girls like that. Anyway- with a jump forward - THEN The Goldbergs would be interesting again because it would bring upon a Love Triangle between Barry, Lainey and the guy who was much better for her (C.B- Brett Dier), etc. GET RID OF JEFF's sister. We know they don't wind up together anyway- due to Schooled. The Goldbergs writers and producers need to get a brain and do the time jump for the 2022 season. THEN they could kill off Murray and get them all together again (including Lainey to set up the love triangle) at the funeral. It was stupid anyway she wasn't even at her father's wedding and not even mentioned.

Therefore, besides all of the difficulties succeeding in the entertainment business, now your material has to be funny to EVERYBODY...even people who don't like comedy, watch tv or care. It's time to create a platform for artists who all agree that anything goes & it's all in good humour. Those not down, do no enter. I think it's doable, and I'm going to work on such a platform. There are billionaires who'd love nothing more than to bankroll a venture that preserves freedom of speech in the arts. This is TOO easy a concept now to not go forward. Season 5 is when it all started to go down hill. The show just got more and more ridiculous. Relying on '80s movie spoofs instead of writing fresh scripts. Most of these actors have been hanging onto these roles, because they can't find much anywhere else. The show's ratings have been in decline since season 2 if you can believe it. Grandpa is dead and dad has been kicked to the curb. It's time to move on.
