As children we had to scrape our old farmhouse… just the bottom three or four feet of the house. We scraped and then used those large wire brushes, which really were so great at getting off the remaining loose paint. I remember being so thankful for those wire brushes… for a 10 or 11 year-old to remember something - that wasn’t Nancy Drew of Laura Ingalls Wilder - remarkable. So, perhaps worth a try if you haven’t already. PS love seeing all that you two are doing… lovely.

Hi guys, I told the folks at Journey to the Chateau about your "siege tower" solution for painting a stairway and they have borrowed the idea for theirs. They chose to paint a PVA sealant on their ceilings to prevent paint peeling, so you might want to borrow that idea in future. They showed a newly finished ceiling, with paint peeling in a small area where they missed the PVA - very pronounced peeling. I imagine it would be worth a try!

Once you have that tree cleared out where you have all the rhododendrons, I have a suggestion, why not plant lots of woodland bulbs, like Wind Anemones, Snowdrops (Perce neige in French), "English" bluebells, etc., as well as ones that bloom later like Martagon lilies (they are excellent around rhodies), and maybe some smaller types of ferns, and in the sunnier areas various species of cyclamens and fritillaries, it's possible to have some kind of cyclamen in bloom almost the entire year. I bet that'd look amazing. If they're happy (and I bet they would be), they'll spread on their own pretty quickly, especially after a few years. And some of those bulbs you can get by the hundred for a cheap price because they grow so easily. And one thing you might want to try is Bear Garlic ("Ail des ours" in French), which is beautiful, spreads, and the new leaves in Spring are an incredibly delicious flavouring and salad ingredient. They're beautiful in bloom, too. If you decide you want to do something with that, and need help with how to site them, etc., I might well be able to come down and help (I live in Normandy). The time to plant them is in autumn, but you need to order them in summer (and most are very inexpensive). Just plant groups of the same thing rather than mixing them all up to have the best impact, and most natural look. With all the years of leaf fall, etc., in there, I'm sure you'd have fantastic soil that will suit them beautifully.
@lhildebrand86506 ай бұрын

God bless your friends and family for helping you work on the grounds. I can’t wait to meet the Mayor! Hope he lets you tape him. Have a great week.

Since I first tried the expensive Irish "imported" butter a few yrs ago, I've noticed they've franchised US companies to produce it. Now it's only slightly better than our top brands. What tipped me off was that it's wrapped in parchment now, instead of foil as it originally was. I guess we don't deserve a choice to enjoy an occasional gourmet treat.

She recently had emergency surgery, & lost her job. She's NEVER been an issue, no drug's, alcohol or carousing. They have 3 weeks to homeless. My husband, 68 works 2 jobs with a kidney transplant. I raise our 15 yo autistic grandson, myself multiple health issues. PRAY for a miracle. My heart is broken 💔 😭 She's such a a great gal, & never thought about aborting our sweet great granddaughter. Having severe female issues, she was told she would probably not ever have a child. She had to take blood thinner shots in her stomach the whole pregnancy. When God's people pray, miracles happen. Thank you

When I was young I worked for the Federal Milk Market Administrator. In the USA they regulate the price of milk. I learned to only eat dairy from ‘Grass Fed Cows”. Grain fed cow milk causes our bodies to create inflammation because grains are not natural to our bodies The French take very good care of their pastures where the cows graze. The composite of the grasses is what gives the butter flavor. You can choose butter with or without salt. They may also have butters with chives, truffles, garlic, etc just like in America but it is the quality of the grass. In Canada there are some great producers of grass fed butter but the grasses on our continent are very different so you will never be able to get the same flavor. The French are masters at dairy and their cheeses are the best. When in the USA try the grass fed but I am able to buy French, Irish, and Scottish diary products here in the USA. I live on the east coast of Virginia along the Atlantic and we easily get the best dairy from France. Also try the Japanese butter if you are on the west coast. Be sure to get their grass fed but I think most of their dairy is grass fed. I think grain fed is recent with some of their beef but if it is grain it is the best grain.They are persnickety about their food!

Fifteen year life is great, but then when you go to replace your 'flame' style white glass 60 watt bulbs they are discontinued. Bleh! But great to see your lemon tree doing well. And I totally agree, Rob, that too many people are 'killing themselves' for more money and more things. My grandfather used to say that advertising creates a need where is none. It gets frustrating when people want to know why you drive an old(er) car, don't want a bigger house, and aren't always going on vacations or buying the latest tech. I couldn't hear your birds because ours are going nuts this morning, especially the very loud mockingbird who steals everyone else's songs. I haven't heard the "car alarm" bird yet this year, lol. Cameras, equipment, mics, drones, high speed internet and hours of editing, needed software, computers, etc.. It's not just a fun little home project, oh and then, any ad revenue they make off the commercials? You Tube takes 45% of all of it. I like watching the videos. THE BENCH! Here is a solution for whenever you face that type of challenge when you don’t wanna start something because you know it’s gonna take a long time or it’s gonna be difficult or it’s gonna be exhausting whatever you keep picturing in your mind that you don’t want to do it! I have always use visualization because a man without vision show parish For all of my projects! During one difficult week, where work was a challenge I had five dogs that was exhausting. My house needed cleaning desperately and like you and the bench I kept saying I don’t wanna start I don’t wanna do it it’s gonna take forever it’s really in need of a cleaning but I caught myself and I thought wait a minute I use visualization for everything. Why don’t I use visualization for this so I literally took five minutes and just stopped what I was doing sat down and spent those minutes visualizing how great I would feel if my house was totally clean the puppies were all clean. Everything was done. I felt so good because I had completed the task. I was looking around and just seeing how wonderfully clean it was just totally completely spotless! And then I just said OK that’s done and went on about my day! A few days later, I was sitting on my porch with my puppies outside, talking to the neighbors and they commented because they had just been in my house about how incredibly clean and lovely my house was I didn’t even realize it until that moment but that task that I was dreading had magically gotten done! I didn’t even really remember doing it. I was just sitting there enjoying the day and it had gotten done! Visualization is absolutely amazing so whenever I have a task that I don’t wanna do I’m dreading that I feel like I’m incompetent to do. I just start and take a few minutes and just see it done and feel so excited and so happy and so wonderful that it’s been done I just look around me. I think about it having been done how easy it was how’s joyful it was And then I just get on with my day and a couple of days later magically it’s always done and I always feel wonderful about it! What we don’t realize is everything that we visualize and I mean everything that we visualize, especially it was strong feelings is what happens so when you are visualizing, how difficult the projects gonna be how long it’s gonna take How uncomfortable it’s gonna be you are actually creating that outcome! So before you go there before you go to that negative state of mind, just stop catch yourself and spend a few moments saying nope I don’t have to have that I can have is feeling wonderful about it being completed about telling myself. What a great job I did how smart I was in the way that I handled the project And how I completed it way before I expected to! I challenge you to take a few moments before you start every single project and see if it makes a difference and then let us know if it works! I would be willing to bet that it works 100% of the time plus it says you from stressing your body and creating ill health. keep going you’ll get there

It is the negative dialogue in our head that prevents a person achieving their goals, so what you are staying is to take that negative dialogue and flip it to the positive. I have been putting off a task for various reasons, but I like this approach. The glass half full instead of half empty
