A tip for you to consider 'next time': When I have flaking paint on my 18th Century New England Colonial, I've found that using a small (e.g. 1 inch) flexible putty-knife works best. You can slide it under the flakes and scrape it off in sheets.

When scraping paint on a rounded surface, I use a spoon!!!!! bowl side facing the paint. Bigger curve, bigger spoon. It is easiest to pull the spoon rather than push it.

On the other château, KZbin channels where they have bees, they call a beekeeper evidently in France they worry about the bees so they have people you can call to to remove the nest and fix the problem so based on at least three other KZbin channels that I’ve watched in France with château, they called the bee people so you might want to figure out by looking up on the Internet or on your phones how you can get in touch with those types of people in France

We know exactly what you’re going through and how you feel with the birds. You had the patience of Job with that particular bird. We have one chimney that for some reason attracts the birds like a magnet. the chimney is lined and they decide to go down it; unfortunately for them we have a woodstove at the bottom - fortunately for them it’s not always lit, but when we do go to light it, we can hear the birds in the chimney and we have to get them out. Our tool of choice for this is the leaf blower, because they just don’t want to come down. Ultimately the little bit of air gives them the updraft they need to launch them out of the top of the chimney. Just a few days ago when we did this, three birds came out the top of the chimney.

Rob…..here is your BUTTER solution…..a cooler bag with hard sided ice packs to get you from the Chateau to the airport and several gallon ziploc bags to store them in…..then just be very nice to your flight attendants and and ask if they will give you ice to refill your cooler bag.

Hello! Are those bees huge? We have carpenter bees here in W. Michigan, they chew up wood and will burrow through brick mortar to get to wood behind it. Ours don't sting. They are like huge, fluffy, flying termites with determination.

I`m sorry... that French bird was not intelligent. Pas l`oiseau le plus intelligent de France, nom d`un petit bonhomme. How the heck do you fall into a gutter pipe, backwards ? Oh well, the important thing is it came out safe and sound. It reminds me of when I rescued a bird about 25 years ago that was in a tree near my house with a length of nylon string twisted around one of his legs, and at the other end twisted around a branch. Went to get a stepladder, cut the string carefully so as not to cut its leg by accident, since he was panicked, and then it flew away. Sometimes you just have to help these little creatures, they get themselves into some really bad situations.

A flat map with a cover is good for cleaning the walls and those shutters, even the windows 🪟 Geta few covers and a bucket of water with cleaner and change the pads as needed. I use this method myself. I would like to help you not work so hard. 💜
