Escape To The Dream, Restoring The Château.

Escape To The Dream, Restoring The Château.

2 жыл бұрын

This week at the château, it’s full steam ahead with the work on the third floor, as Terry and Ash race on to try and get in before the bad weather hits. But while working away, the pair uncover a couple more discoveries and face a couple of château wall disasters.
Tracy is busy stripping all the old wallpaper throughout the third floor and helps Terry remove tons of the stones from the château walls.
🥳🥳🥳 PLUS 🥳🥳🥳
it is finally here. The family have launched a patreon page, so now you can follow the families journey that one step further, and get to see behind the scenes footage, exclusive discounts and much more, plus so you feel apart of the château and the renovations you will receive a piece of the château and it’s history to treasure, making you truly part of the journey and helping save this magnificent building.
If you would like to join us on our journey, please just follow the link below, 🥰
/ chateaudelalacelle
About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

I completely agree. I’m missing him. Nothing against Terry who took over the page I just miss Tony and Tracy’s way of talking to the camera and an eye for what we would find interesting. I wish in the videos about the cottage you would give Tony back the camera 🎥 and not you doing a interview that an come off as forced banter. Give Tony back the control over the cottage or have him begin his own page because I would definitely watch him and your mom.

Don’t forget to hide a few letters from you to the house. Tell her what it was that made you love her and who all is there helping restore her beauty. Put it in a bottle or jar with other items; like a piece of original wall paper from the room and in the future someone will find it. Kinda like a time capsule. It will be a piece of history… do it in the cottage too.

Congrats on joining Patreon - great way for viewers to participate in this epic restoration. And viewers, another wonderful way of helping is by watching the adverts in their entirety. Doing that little bit adds up and creates additional needed resources. Costs involved in restoring a chateau are tremendous and endless. Excellent work lads and lass. Get yourselves a bucket chute to get all debris down to ground. Simply chuck the chute out a window of the room you're working in and toss everything down it. They're so lightweight now it's easy to pull up and move to the next window. Someone else mentioned an electric winch. That's a great idea. Even if you may not find one to reach the top, two less costly winches, moving the load from one to the other halfway up, would certainly speed things up for bit. Not to worry, you'll still be gettin in your steps. With a chute, nobody runs the risk of a grossly over developed bum. Lol Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Cheers!

@@chateaudelalacelle another renovation channel made a chute by cutting out the bottom of plastic rubbish bins and attaching them together with chains. Great news! It takes a lot to do a video on top of everything else. On the snake, it’s probably a rat snake or a racer going by the skin rather from a dead snake. He’s been eating whatever mice or other rodents it finds in the walls. I’m sure you know that’s just a shed skin. As for the egg, snakes don’t carry things in their mouths. It would have swallowed it whole then just squeezed with its muscles to break the shell before moving on. Snakes swallow everything in place instead of moving it elsewhere. You’re more likely to find there was a larger bird that laid that egg. I’d lean toward it being laid in a nest that fell down inside. Possibly an owl. If it’s empty it would have been there a very long time. Evaporation happens very slowly but it does happen through the shell. It’s not unlikely for a snake to hang around a place where a nest is because they do like to eat eggs and chicks. An egg is a heavy thing for any local animal to carry that high through the walls so it’s unlikely to have been carried by a rat or other climbers. The activity upstairs will undoubtedly drive the snake away. But they are very beneficial animals to have around your home.

Wow you have done lots this week its lovely seeing the room come together, I for one love watching you all bringing the Chateau and cottage back to life.. once you get your living quarters done you should let volunteers come use your caravans and help you with their talents like other chateau owners, Jonathan will have many skills hes learning from you all by the time hes grown up lol x

Thanks guys you are all doing a great job, but I do think you need a builders chute to get the rubbish down from the top. Carrying it in bags will wreck your bodies. Lana Australia

I’m kind of watching out of order. I enjoy watching so much! Yes, as someone commented about Jonathan, he is going to be such a skilled young man, believing anything is possible if you work hard and steady! I’m off to bake bread for the first time in rainy Oregon USA

Loved the video. It’s great to see such rapid progress in the salon. Although I’m aware that a lot more work happened behind the scene. Well done everyone!

Great progress in the salon. You should utilize part of that space you blocked off ...under the TV make a cabinet for electronics ( DVR etc...and a space for DVD's)

You should definitely put the wall lights on a dimmer. Will give you much more control over the mood of the lighting.
