If you buy a removalist trolley that has the 3 wheel system on each of the two sides of the bottom - you can use it to pull things up the stairs much easily. We have one and use it all the time for heavy items. They also generally have a strap that allows you to just pull it out and hook around the item - offering that extra stability. They are not very expensive and will make life so much easier.

Just recently started following you wonderful people. Here's how move heavy things like your firebox. Lay planks over your stairs and slide it up. You can have people pushing, and people on top pulling. For the fireboxes, the people pulling can attach ropes to the item and pull from the top. If it is very heavy, use pulleys at the top (with brakes) to help pull. It's how farmers used to get hay into the barn lofts. 😃

Great job. As someone who has not had all of life's comforts ( indoor plumbing, windows that opened, cold house when I was young) you appreciate all these things so much and are always grateful. Every morning when it is warm, I say thank you Lord for this warm house. God bless all of you, and you will always treasure working with your family. I was very fortunate to work with mine for years, it's the greatest memory you can have.

Really enjoying your progress on the renovations. I lived in Normandy France for 7 years and renovated an old village school. classroom became the living room and side entrance. Front part of house was for the teacher. We insulated it as best as possible but oil heating cost a fortune in 2008 and so bought a Villager AHI boiler stove that heated 10 rads. Hot water was a chauffe eau 200 litre jobby. The wood would cost £600 euro for the 7 months of heating. At the time with oil costing £60 a week. Living room was largest room of 35sqm with 4.1 metre ceiling hight. Used insulated board with around overall thickness of 50mm. With the stove the house was warm. Windows we bought at Gavraymat in Gavray. The rear 3 windows had made by them 2metres high by 1.8m wide. Hardwood and double glazed. Front windows 2metre high by 1.2m wide. Altogether around 6k euros. I enjoyed fitting them. What heating are you going to use as radiator fed boiler? Wood pellet, wood gasification? Or just use stoves.

I'm hesitant to use the word "accent" but among the reasons I enjoy watching/listening to your five-person chateau family so much is the melodious way you-all speak. To my American ears, some from the UK speak in a stilted way, others with a harsh accent but your way is almost musical at times. I assume this is a regional language trait, but it interests me.

Yes, but I do wonder about their allergy to the letter T, as in Cha-ough & Shu-er? But they do use with Tony Tracey & Terry. (Just Wondering)🐧💕 Such a hard working loving family!🌹💕

It’s a what is known in England as a Geordie accent - from Northumberland or the north east of the country.
@richardcully48693 жыл бұрын
@@marshawargo7238 Hey Marsha, strange you should say that because as an English person i often notice the American aversion to the same letter! For 'British' or Britain It's nearly always Bridish or Bri'ain or Congradulations with a D sound - the D's for T's seems fairly consistent in a lot of speech. would you agree?
@Sgirl3 жыл бұрын
@@richardcully4869 That's regional I'd guess. I'm Californian and definitely pronounce my "T"s and haven't really noticed others don't. Might also be generational. I notice younger kids seem to speak less precisely. Language is a living thing though. Changes drastically through generations. Think of American English as spoken 250 years ago. Totally different from current sentence structure, pronunciation and usage. They would be appalled at our current way of speaking. 😄

I can imagine how wonderful the fire is! A suggestion for some of the old wall paper, use it to line the back of book shelves, and cabinets and closets, if it's in good enough shape and goes with the colors you will pick. Saving history is grand! Love watching your progress!

Lovely everyone, so happy to see the fire in the salon, lighting that every day is going to help dry her out slowly, which after so many years, where she probably thought, it was never going to happen again, she will hug you and love you. Did the fire get put in your own little salon? Be lovely to see the bathroom and bedroom done, not finished but getting there. The biggest bit to come, but it will look so amazing when you get that started, you will probably have a "wow" moment when you start to see units and sink etc going in. I dont mind what you choose, i just love watching. Love to all. B
