I grew up with Chad. We lived in the same ward in Springville. I have to say that his parents are the greatest people in the world. My mom was a non Mormon single mom and his dad was our home teacher. He did so many great things to help my mom. I hope that people will never think they did anything to deserve any of this. I will say that I always felt that Chad was always a bit off. Nobody in the Daybell family deserves any of this... Chad made his own bed and now has to live with it.

This lady *Knew* that Chad wasn’t right. Her reaction to Chad and his family moving to their town was so strong. Most people who had a brother in law that they didn’t really like moving near would’ve sucked it up and made the effort or at least just seen them at holidays. She just knew this guy was bringing dark energy.

i was also abused as well as my son and called a peasant girl within an italian family. my own family at the time questioned my decision to leave 1 mentioning money the other thought he was so nice because he was a business owner and would offer free tickets and food delivery. They also manipulated me and took my 1yr old daughter from me i had to go to court didnt have money for lawyer had legal aid so until court had to not talk to them or see my daughter a judge told me i dont deserve my children and i lost custody of her. Controlled all my visitations and what i could and could not do with her. most people in family dont know the full extent of the situation fast forward 27yrs the relationship with her siblings are great i do my best but he was jealous of the bond i had with my daughter and did his best to destroy it i wish i could tell her the truth but i would never unless she asked. we do have a relationship but it is strained by the elephant in the room 💔💞

I think that Matt and Chud found beautiful ladies. Matt appreciates his wife, however, sees her beauty and strength. But Chud resented Tammy’s strengths because he is a weak character. Seeing Tammy have the steady job, care for her children, and their home while he sat around thinking he deserved ‘better’ and that he was once God on Earth. I have a feeling Chad was both attracted to and intimidated by Heather’s looks and intellect. That’s why he told his bro not to marry her; he was jelly. He wouldn’t let Tammy talk to Heather alone. Why? Because Heather might tell her she doesn’t need to be chads life slave and her kids should have more respect for her (I’m speculating) ? Also of note, it’s nice to see Heather wearing a sleeveless top. I’ve never seen Mormon shoulders! ❤❤ ETA - remember how Chad said his ideal “hot babe” would be thin and blonde with boobs and a tan? Heather has all those attributes. He was jealous of his brother Matt!

Yes, she was not only prophetic but truthful & 100% right on in judging Chad & Loris' characters. She challenged 2 of her local LDS bishops & two state LDS leaders why they chose to believe Chad over her when Chad spread rumors that Heather was lying about him. Heather challenged the LDS leaders that they were supposed to have descernment by the mere positions of being leaders in the LDS church. Obviously that teaching has been proven wrong! @cookie_dough_hangover
@cookie_dough_hangover Жыл бұрын
@@janetcampbell9286 Actually it is dependant on gender and it's scientifically proven. I said "strong and intuitive woman" which excludes gullible and silly women. Studies have found that a woman's intuition goes deeper than cultural gender expectations. On a biological level, women have increased brain activity as well as greater blood flow in areas of the brain that control memory and emotion, which could explain why women exhibit intuition more than men. Let's not make something that is supported by science and everyday experience into a gender thing.

Chad’s choices had very little to do with LDS beliefs, especially once he started making up his own belief system. I think he made choices that led him down a dark path that became even more evil. He knew exactly what he was doing. I think Lori is a narcissist, but i think she truly believed what Chad sold to her. Many people will be tricked by Satan and fall away from Christ, this will only increase until the second coming.

Cling to Jesus Christ and Holy spirit. To me this is a clear case of pride coming before the fall. Chad obviously wanted desperately to be someone important, to have followers so badly that he was easy pickings for being deceived. Lucifer, the roaring lion who seeks to destroy, used Chads pride by whispering to him that he was a great leader with a great mission. By telling him there were dark spirits in people and they needed to be destroyed. All the things he started believing are clearly not scriptural in any way. Chad was already adept at manipulation and lies, it wasn't a huge leap to start deceiving people with his "prophetic gifts". Enter Lor Vallow, who desperately wants to be a spiritual giant herself, and you have the perfect storm. I believe Chads lust for Lori is what got Tammy killed. Just remember one of Jesus most important teachings from the New Testament... "by their fruits ye shall know them" (found in Matthew) What are Chad and Loris fruits? Death and destruction. Don't let the "roaring lion" destroy your faith over this. He's looking for any crack in your faith and he will exploit it to the fullest. Now let's apply the "fruits" yardstick to the Church. What are its fruits? A family centered, law abiding, service oriented, hard working, clean living, morality striving people. With a vast welfare system that helps the poor, and those that suffer calamities, all over the world. Of course we all have faults, no one is perfect. But it's essential to have discernment in all things. Cultivate Holy spirit as your guide. Intuition, gut feelings, it's all the same. Learn to trust it above all else.

Peer pressure is so dangerous. Everyone must learn to accept being an outsider. It's ok to say no thanks. If the group disapproves of you, have enough internal fortitude to say, "I will be fine without this (you)". Society is so terrified of loneliness; that fear is a way of gaining mass control of people (and their time, talent, money). It's ok to be an "outsider", to be alone (for the time), and to be disliked. People who pressure you into doing things that you are uncomfortable with, are not your friends. Be very careful about who and what institutions effect your life decisions.

How? Because it doesn't start with these extreme beliefs. It starts with normal things and then gradually grows bizarre. Also Chad (and Lori and all the extremist groups worldwide) will restrict who they tell what. "Need to know basis". "You're a confidant." "You're special, you're going to be great, be important." And thirdly, people yearn to belong. If somebody offers a group where you feel validated, people like to join. If the group then goes into "us versus them" territory, they get dangerous fast. Inhumane. No longer social solid. I hope you understand now how easily it is for normal, kind people to "believe in this crap".

Heather, thank you so much for sharing your story. Your experiences turn people we know as one-dimensional ("the doting mother", "the villain") and creates a much deeper and realistic view of humanity--the complex characters laced with tragedy, dealing with family, self-preservation, growth, and both exercising and pushing boundaries. It sounds like you and your husband have worked really hard at your relationship throughout the years, what a great accomplishment that shows your abiding trust and love in each other. I also commend you for re-evaluating your entire belief system--it takes open-minded intelligence, integrity, and grit to progress beyond the worldview you inherited. It's also incredibly difficult and painful, though ultimately (imo) wonderfully rewarding, to find you can learn and change and that all that is before you is opportunity to live and grow some more. I've made that journey, ridden than tapir, if you will, see the similarities in history that you've seen--all my support on your journey and to your families as you make your way through this great tragedy. 😘 Thanks again.

Wow…😢 the preview gave me goosebumps… Heather and Matt, you have been through so much, & you’re incredibly courageous for stepping frwd to speak abt your experience/POV as this mindless tragedy unfolded…I can’t imagine how you feel but appreciate you sharing your story and choosing Lauren & the Dr to sit down with- we all know why you would trust them with your trauma and heartbreak, and I’m so glad that the work they’re doing is being recognized for the consideration, thoughtfulness, respect, lack of sensationalism and the dedication to uncovering the truth that we admire and appreciate them for… they are shining a light in the darkness and I know that you will inspire so many ppl by explaining how Chad cast his darkness even over his own family… the fact he loathed you was surely annoying and inconvenient and uncomfortable at times, but then finding out the fact he would bring you or his wife’s name into his evil dirty dealings must have been terrifying and maddening… but it turned out to be his biggest compliment, as someone that saw through the BS and was relentless in ensuring he didn’t put the entire family under his spell- his need for control and acclaim and attention… you stood up to him then, and now you’re still standing up to his lies and destruction; however, now you are representing Tammy too, and I’m sure she’d be happy and proud of you uncovering Chad’s true character and ripping of his mask to reveal the selfish, egotistical, listful, LIAR AND FRAUD, that cared abt his family so much that he was willing to destroy it and k¡ll its heart- his wife- his children’s mother, and he’s so narcissistic he thought he would get away with it and it would be worth doing… so he could have his cheerleader, which is sickeningly disgusting & enraging, and the most narcissistic thing I’ve ever heard of, bc it was worth him to do all these things and life a life of depravity and destruction with his little minion followers all staring at him for directions. It’s unbelievable, it I hope his children can be embraced and strengthened by ur larger family and get the support they need when the legal process comes to an end and they have to face reality. I’m so happy you’re exposing him and in doing so, warning everyone else that practices or dabbles in the problematic beliefs he/they got involved in (Julie row, energy work, avow, Church of the 1st born, etc.) that opening something as precious as your religious beliefs and trust to ppl that could be cheats, frauds, charlatans, swindlers, and ppl with evi intentions to take away something you love… maybe even everything. Giving insight into Chads life and decisions and who he really was will definitely help ppl avoid personalities like him or look out for the characteristics in ppl close to them and help them recognize the signs of abuse, need for control, egoism and psychopathy… so that they can escape a negative situation or atleast take it seriously. I’m sure your interview will help many ppl and warn many others- it will be a positive influence that combats all the bad/dark that Chads put out in the world. Thank you for helping us understand ❤️ prayers for everyone in the daybell family and also tammy’s, sending them wishes for healing peace and acceptance and hoping you all take time to care for your heads and hearts after such difficulties/trauma.

I’m so glad I stumbled across this video! I am sooooo supportive of Heather. You speak truth to power! You are one of the many hero’s in this story. You give me so much confidence to say the truth even though others try to bring me down and gaslight me and even threaten me to go along with things that don’t feel right. Thank you so much.

This woman looks so so much like tammy. And so much like lori. And yet Chad killed Tammy to have lori. Thank goodness this woman didn't buy into his insanity. Oh I bet he wanted her. And I bet he couldn't stand that she saw right through him. This woman got the good brother that's for sure.

Thank you for sharing this, it was fascinating. Hearing Heather speak about the knot in her stomach, her instinct really stood out to me. Intuition is truly be a grate blessing. It’s up to us whether or not we heed it, I’m so glad she did & was able to guard her children! My heart goes out to her & the families who have been devastated by this great tragedy, & the wickedness that robbed them of their beloved members Tammy, Charles, Tylee, & JJ.

Such a gracious, Beautiful, and Strong Woman. I have respect for her standing up to Chad and raising her Family. I am looking forward to watching part two. I feel Heather was definitely going to be a victim of Chad and his minions. She was deemed to be DARK and we know what happened to the others.

Agree, and I’m so glad that Brandon got his “dark” kids and was able to get them away from Lori , Chad, and more importantly, their own mother! I really believe that they were in danger! Melanie was seriously aggressive about trying so hard to take them at the same time JJ & Tylee were still missing. I think Melanie P knows more than she led on in her interview. Wouldn’t it be crazy if she decided to testify against Chad since he’s throwing her under the bus!! I couldn’t trust anyone in that family except Adam and Loris uncle, maybe. Praying for Justice ❤

I'm only half an hour in, yet feel compelled to share that this must be one of the most authentic interviews - not only in this case, but in any public telling of a real life or true crime story. It is so deeply apparent that Heather had insight and experinces few did, but the wisdom of being an outside within the family to bring some objctivity. Mostly, it's apparent that she's trying to tell her story while respecting the privacy and boundaries of her husband's family; and that while she herself has established boundaries with that family, she has love and wishes the best for them. Perhaps if they're watching, but too hurt or entrenched in their own story /experience, they'll see some truth in my words, or Heather's decision to speak to them (30m mark when she looks directing into the camera. )

Heather, you are clearly the real deal. Your story affirms my experience with organized religion being polluted by flawed, narcissistic humans. (I was raised in old-school fundamentalist religions that seemed to be filled with spiteful and power hungry people who ignored the real teachings of Jesus.) I have connection with Spirit now, and live my own truth as best I can. Thank you for sharing your journey. 💗

@Tara Mcgavan H3LL NO! I share Heathers current beliefs. I am no longer a believing nor practicing Mormon. It’s should be said that Chad and Lori believed way beyond the Mormon beliefs.

I will be listening to this interview *many* times. Heather is so observant and grounded. I can't say enough how much I admire her courage, and deeply appreciate her for telling her story. This tragedy is so perplexing and heartbreaking. Hearing Heather's insight is like, somehow calming, almost curative, if that makes sense? So, thank you Heather for sharing this with us *and* for choosing Hidden True Crime. And thank you HTC for such a thoughtful, smart interview!
