@@Anti-leftist7777 Chad often wears dark glasses indoors or out due to serious injuries racing at Daytona that toed out his one eye & nearly killed him. And his sister died tragically young due to a cruel disease. So what are you implying, what exactly is your point? I met Chad at a Porsche Rennsport event, & we spoke hundreds of ft from anyone 1 on 1 for several min(before even realizing I wasn't quite sure what to say he promptly reached out to shake my hand). He's an incredibly gracious, stand up, cool guy just like his pop who'd be very proud of him.

Chad I will always remember the Locker Room at the all Valley Tournament when you tried to kick Daniels Butt before the fight even started.Your father was and is still my favorite movie star of all times. My very favorite movie even to this day is of course The Great Escape. How can anyone who watched that movie not remember the famous motor cycle ride with him trying to get across enemy lines. I was 11 years old when that movie came out. Your dad was a master movie star, who is greatly missed !

Sad that both father and son are now gone. Chad died last week on September 12 at the age of 63. His sister Terry died back in 1998 at the age of 38 tragically. Thankfully, Chad's kids Chase and Madison are going to continue running the family business of McQueen Racing, inspiring new generations of sporting enthusiasts. Also, Chad's son Steven R. is currently an actor in his own right and will always have his iconic granddad's charming swagger and charisma. Well done, Chad. Farewell.

I met Chad at Monterey auction in 2015. I asked him for a picture and told him his dad was a bad ass. He graciously put his arm around me as the picture was taken. He then said, God Bless. I looked at the picture as he walked away, it was taken with the sun behind us, you couldn't make us out. I approached him again and explained this to him. He said, let's do it again. He posed with me again with his arms around my wife and myself. What a great and humble guy he was.

I remember, the night, the moment I heard that Steve had died. It was very sad. For me his best movie by far was "The Sand Pebbles". He portrayed a character so believable, so lonely in a background so far away from his home and mine. When you see that movie, you realize that everyone else is acting. He is living it.
@dolenzmcqueen83165 жыл бұрын
11:11::11 yes, thank you. Everything about "The Sand Pebbles was GREAT...The movie, the music the other actors, everything, but of course Steve was the one that made it work. He knew how to express himself in his face, tone and movements. He went beyond acting. Cried for days after I seen that movie, his greatest. Also the hardly mentioned "Baby he Rain Must Fall" the movie that made me notice and fall for Steve McQueen. Don't worry, I'm a girl. :)

When I was growing up in Ecuador, one time I saw "the Getaway" movie and I became a fan of him. I remember that he became sick in 79 and the newspaper and magazines stared to say that he was very sick. One day I draw his face and put it in my room, my mon came and asked me who he was, I told her that he was my favorite actor Steve McQueen. Years later my mon got sicked with terminal cancer, and the doctor that was attending my mon new Steve McQueen when he was working in USA Los Angeles Mount Sinai Hospital. Steve went to this Hospital when he found out that he got cancer for treatment. The doctor talked to my mon about Steve medical treatment and the fight that he put out for saving his life. My mon died in 92, she was a fighter too. The only hope that I have is that Revelation 21: 1 to 4 mentioned that Jehovah God will destroy dead and that humanity will not suffer from death no more, no more cried. The bible also says about the resurrection of the death with Jesus as our savior John 11: 43,44. 1 kings 17: 17-24 Acts 9:36-42 Eclesiastes 9:5. Wonderful hope to see them again here on earth when we have a paradise for all.

I have had admiration for a only a few actors and Steve is At the top of the list. Steve didn't say much While on camera I think he believed that less was more. He didn't force his character on U but it was easy to enter his world and wanting more. He once said in his role as a race car driver " Everything before and after a race is just waiting " How true that statement is. When you find something in life U love to do it is easy to emerse yourself in it. And then everything else in your life revolves around it. How lucky some people are to find it. Hope to meet up with you in heaven and talk Racing.

Very beautiful. Wonderful interview and glad to see Steve still be honored. So glad Chad is still around as well. Hard to believe it's been 5 years since the crash. I had just watched him in a movie with Michael Madsen and Chris Penn (Trail of a Serial Killer) and actually liked it for a low budget picture... then went online and saw he had crashed at Daytona. Also should be noted that Chris Penn passed away January 2006. So I was kinda weirded out to say the least.

I'm a huge Porsche racecar fan myself from Daytona & though I wasn't aware of Chad's crash at the track till long after, I read a DBNJ article of him returning to thank the EMS crew about 1 1/2 yrs after. WOW, no idea how badly hurt he'd been. Or that he was stuck at the local Halifax hospital like 2+ mths! Then, some time after the article Porsche was back at Daytona w/their huge Rennsport event a 2nd time in '07 & I was in! How cool if Chad came too, I joked to myself(I knew he was still big into the brand). Well....sure as sh*t not only was he there but we ended up chatting several min 1 on 1 outside the garages! Chad is incredibly gracious, it was a great time. When he turned on his cart & saw me standing there a bit tongue-tied before I even realized it, he reached out to shake my hand. Funny, in the past meeting the "famous" never phased me, I guess it shows what a huge fan I am of his dad! And to meet "his boy" who was THERE for most of it & all that's left of Steve was I guess too cool. But it was funny, we sort of "hit it off" & were off & rolling on his dad, Porsches, his terrible wreck, etc etc. for several min. Chad is a chip off the old block cool guy, & also VERY funny dropping F-bombs so excited Brumos let him be back on track in their 911 RSR for the parade laps! 😁 I know his pop would be proud. A fond memory, & time to time still wonder how he's doing & if his injuries improved any. That cat is VERY lucky to be alive!

Chad you did a great video about your Dad, ya told it like it was, how he grew up and what he taught you and your sister about life and how you should be... Yes, you did grow up fast after the cancer happened to your Dad, same thing with my kids, I guess you had to go long bouts of time without having him home, our family did the same, it was how they made a living and then, cancer and chemo, just takes them away so fast, yet, watching them suffer is long and hard... I love your Mom, she's one genuine Lady and the only one I consider his wife and of course, the Mother of you two kids, you look really good in this video, I watched the movie The Man and Lamanns, you did great on that too. Love and prayers to you and all your family too. Thanks for the video and keeping his tradition of helping the boys home, that's a wonderful thing to do.✝️🕊️🇺🇸🎗️♥️

Actually I get very real uprising feeling about Steve because he did something very different to me. He said he's make the movie thriller, but he was true life dedicated, near to passing to heaven, and could not complete his agreement. So he had me meet him at the Nassau Tavern, Princeton NJ; me not knowing it was him. I sat down. He appeared for real, set up white wine and champagne, which I sloshed. Then he departed and passed away. True life action for each individual innocent was Steve.

He surely did some worthy things in his life, but he had major flaws with how he dealt with women he had relationships with -(hitting women due to anger issues). Just enjoy his work and leave it at that...
