LIVING IN A VAN IN SAN FRANCISCO (everyone warned us not to go)

After being warned by what seems to be an endless list of worried friends, family, and strangers, we took our van into the heart of San Francisco- the hotspot for car break-ins. A full day of endless worrying came to an end as we happily confirmed that nothing happened to our beloved van while parking in San Francisco (thank goodness)!

I have to admit, San Francisco scares me and my wife a little, bec those are the tallest hills we’ve ever seen in a city before...but the views are so exciting! You make some wonderful food dishes, and I find myself looking forward to what you’re gonna prepare next #NomNom Cheers as always

Lovely views of a beautiful city. The Golden Gate is named not after the color of the bridge paint or vice versa but after the color of the light coming thru the gap between the SF and Marin sides. Amazing waves of golden light are visible from directly across the Bay in Emeryville in the late afternoon. And not every season of the year. I think it is the best view of a city of many views.

If y'all are headed up the coast, you should definitely check out Orr Hot Springs (if they are open) and Montgomery Woods. They're close to each other on the road between Ukiah and Mendocino. Love the videos!

Clair, you may not like hills but I don't like bridges and dispise cliffs. Watching you guys makes me wonder how I'll ever be able to drive cross country with so many drop offs on side of roads. I like land all around, not air with drops feet/miles below. Ooo, goosebumps. Thanks again to good time

San Francisco is windy year round. the Bay Area can experience +- 5 celsius anytime as geographically it is vast and on a the pacific rim and on the Andreas fault. Be safe you too :) SF is one of my hometown. Sending positive vibes from Vancouver CA.

Do not park in Golden Gate Park, especially on the stretch continuing 19th avenue, next to the entrance of the Botanical Garden. Lots of glass shattering break ins - multiple piles of shattered glass on the road

Hi, actually things you said about SF depends on where you are. You were lucky to get a parking spot at coit tower, windshields were getting broken when we were there, the 15 mins parking people take very seriously. Plus the elevator to the top, always not working. You had a better chance of getting broke into at the beach, there’s a lot to see in SF. I live north in Sonoma county, I’ve been to SF tons of times. The residents of Lombard really don’t like that people want to experience driving it. I’m surprised you didn’t go to pier 39, or China town. Guessing your on a time frame, SF is beautiful at night. Should have gone to Sausalito , then take the boat to Angel island. It’s easy to spend a lot of time in the Bay Area , you say your only going to do this once. Bummer, there’s so much more to see and do. I’m currently in Shasta county, by Mt Shasta. Another beautiful area. Have fun kids, stay safe. FYI, I’m super jealous of your trip to Yosemite. Camped there many times, spent part of my childhood in Mariposa just outside the park. Anyway, have fun 😊🦋

Bummer you hit a windy stretch. And yes that was a black tail deer but there are lots of Tule elk there as well. That road to the light house is the bumpiest road in the world. I did not like that part of that National seashore. Stay safe

What holds the foil insulation on the windows? Did you go to Hoover dam? What about the Redwood Forest?

We have bungee cords that hold the foil in place. We drove past the Hoover dam on our way Vegas, but it was actually closed and we won’t be able to swing all the way up to the redwoods this time around.
