FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE OREGON COAST (van life)

And we’re back on the Pacific Coast! Very similar to California’s coast, Oregon has beautiful rocky cliffs, golden sunlight, and turquoise waters. We had ourselves three days to drive up the coast, and just about everything we saw was outstanding. Our free overnight parking spots came with spectacular views, and we were so lucky to have gotten pristine weather. We have just one more stop on Oregon before we cross the border into the next state- guess where?!

YAY, so happy you are sharing your chef skills with this beautiful cookbook. He was too kind and patient with me, but I spent too many hours giving him the cold shoulder. . . now he has severe dementia.

yum crapes! My adopted mom is part hungarian and they make something called polachinta (sp?) it's a crepe, stuffed with large curd cottage cheese, egg, sugar, and vanilla. mix it up and stuff the crepes and bake it in the oven for a little bit to cook the egg and it is so good!

I bought your cookbook! The recipes look delicious, the photographs are beautiful, and I love the little blurbs you included with each one - your personality really shines through them! One minor suggestion if you ever do a version 2: when you list "1 can of x", maybe you could include the size of the can? (e.g. 1 10-oz can of corn.) Otherwise, everything looks perfect and I can't wait to try out one of your recipes on my next camping trip!

You should have visited florence! Hidden gem along the oregon coast! They have a stellar sea lion cave, sand dunes where you can atv along the beaches, horse back ride along the beach.. just so much to do! We are touring oregon right now. Just left cougar hot springs in Willamette and going back to florence this weekend.. thinking about putting down roots there. We are from indiana. Traveling in a van with our 3 kids and dog for over a month now. It's been a mentally and physically rewarding experience..

Howdy you two 👋🏼 Maybe it’s just me, or maybe it’s not, but starting at 1:37 in this video, the low lying sun in the background, created some very nice shadowing of your faces & clothing, creating a kind of “Film Noir” effect similar to an old classic 1946 Humphrey Bogart movie I saw as a kid! That feeling in me continued as you were preparing that wonderful soup for dinner…the brightly lit background casting that dim foreground effect on Claire as she was prepping the meal! This same “lighting effect, was widely used in old film noir movies of the 40’s! I’m not sure if that was done by design, or if it was just a fortunate happenstance, but it was artistically brilliant 👍🏼 The thought of you guys selling your van makes me kinda sad, bec I look at it as the third member of your family, but as the saying goes: “Change is the most essential process of life”! Btw, loved that design Claire made with those seashell shards! It was like a mini beacon for positivity to channel its way towards your stay on the Oregon Coast! ALWAYS my best to you “three” 😂

Great video. The entire Pacific Coast is amazing. Ocean is cold up there. Best swimming is around San Diego for warm water, like Coronado Beach. Great meals. Love the drone input and that dessert looked wonderful! Be safe

I assume you’re going to Olympus park next. You need to go on a hike called “ third beach trailhead” (strawberry bay falls)it’s. A majestic 20 minute hike through the moss covered rainforest to a secluded beach with a waterfall dropping into the ocean. I highly highly recommend one of my fav spots when I took a van across the country

Sorry, ther Oregon coast isn't really a swimming coast, unless you have a wet suit. The ocean current comes from the north, bringing arctic cold water, so it tends to be chilly water year round.

The reason you are not swimming in Oregon is because you know there are warmer places out there. You will see plenty of Oregonian girls swim in the ocean LOL they do not know there are warmer place .
